    Hi everyone,

We’re going to the GCI at the end of January (pretty soon!). Is it warm enough at night to wear long shorts or is it getting on the cool side in which one would want pants or capris? I know it gets in the mid 70s at night.

If it’s really muggy, one might want shorts. However, it it’s not as muggy and there’s a breeze, the same mid 70s could feel a bit chilly.

I tend to be a little hot-blooded as it is, so I’m thinking long shorts, but what do you more experienced islanders think? Thanks for helping a confused neophyte. :bouncelaugh:

Wishing you happy and safe travels,

    Erika ?

    Hi zenmeister

Just got back from 4 weeks in GC, and my husband wore long nice shorts and a nice t shirt every night we went out to dinner. I usually wore a knit skirt and t shirt. Everywhere we went this year we ate outside and I was very comfortable as was he. sometimes I take a light cotton jacket with me because I tend to get cold, but I really didn’t need it this year.

AAtually this year, it was a bit on the cool side and fairly windy-so I think you really wouldn’t need long pants.

    Hope this helps

We have been here two nights, and so far shorts and tshirts. My wife might put a zip up sweatshirt on, if it gets cool, but so far she has been fine in her shorts. She brought capris, if need be.

Shorts and capris…..whatever you feel comfortable in. No worries about being cold…..if you’re particularly susceptible, then bring a light sweater along.

I’m terrible about over-packing and could pretty much take every thing from home including the kitchen sink “just in case I need it”, but you all have helped me narrow things down. The pants are going back in the closet.

I’m sure once I get there, these things won’t matter so much. From what you all have explained, everyone is so laid back and the focus is on FUN! Can’t wait to go relax and chill out. Thanks again!

    Warm wishes,

    Erika :rockbed: :palm1:

What other people think doesn’t matter. I feel comforts in capri pants.
