Full ‘Blood Red’ Moon During Full Eclipse

    At Red Bay, Grand Cayman

    http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/Sightseeing/nature/full-moon-palm-trees-600.jpg” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image” />

We enjoyed clear skies during the early (way too early!) morning hours when the full eclipse of the moon was visible in the Cayman Islands.

The moon changed colors as it moved; creating a gradient of hues over the course of about an hour, ranging from red to yellow.

“Blood Moons” as they are called, are actually a full lunar eclipse and the moon appears blood red as it passes into Earth’s shadow.

There will be three more lunar successions within the next two years, which is an unusually high number of occurrences:

    October 8 2014

    April 4th 2015

    September 28 2015

After that, the next occurrence will be in 2032.

The last time I saw a Red Moon I suggested she not wear a Thong Bikini and to use plenty of Aloe. She thanked me for my help.

I wanted to see this moon and was working midnight shift so I was excited. Unfortunately, we got a couple of inches of snow dumped on us that night and that screwed up our moon viewing.

It did give us a new record for yearly snowfall, so we have that going for us, which is nice!

Leo, good on you for helping! You didn’t offer help in the application of said aloe did you???

Happy Easter to you all, and may you all feel the joy of Christ’s love.

Actually I offered to lend a hand but as luck might have it I didn’t have any Aloe. She again thanked me and said maybe next time.

    Well, at least you tried!

I’m thinking we should maybe plan our next Cayman trip for when a blood moon is predicted. It would be cool to see it from anywhere, but more so from Cayman.
