We enjoyed clear skies during the early (way too early!) morning hours when the full eclipse of the moon was visible in the Cayman Islands.
The moon changed colors as it moved; creating a gradient of hues over the course of about an hour, ranging from red to yellow.
“Blood Moons” as they are called, are actually a full lunar eclipse and the moon appears blood red as it passes into Earth’s shadow.
There will be three more lunar successions within the next two years, which is an unusually high number of occurrences:
October 8 2014
April 4th 2015
September 28 2015
After that, the next occurrence will be in 2032.
