Flew in on Thursday during a thunderstorm and by the time we cleared customs, picked up copies of the CAG, hit Fosters and checked in at Plantana…the sun was shining!
The wind and waves have been wild the past two days so it’s a side of GCM we haven’t seen in the past.
But it made for an excellent day at the Blowhole yesterday! It was spectacular! When I get home (and if can remember how to do it), I’ll post some video!
I’ll post the pictures and other videos when we get back to Chicago on Sunday.
Hopefully our deep sea fishing excursion with Oh Boy Charters doesn’t get cancelled tomorrow or our Sunset Sail on Thursday night!
A little tease…the first sunset
Unless something REAL interesting happens, this is the last tease until Sunday…
The Kittiwake definitely qualifies for REAL interesting!
OK, here we go!
Our flight on AA was at 5:25am. Had the alarm set for 3am but Debbie was up playing solitaire on the computer at 2am! We hooked up with Patrick in MIA and the journey began!
As spectacular as the sunsets are, the sunrise on the climbout was pretty good as well!
We hadn’t seen Patrick since my surprise 60th in February so Debbie was anxious to see him (me too)!
Goodbye MIA & Cuba – GCM is in our sights!
A little dreary as we approached Owen Roberts but who cares! As a lot of people say in GCM – we are on holiday!
The band sounds as good as ever! I like their new “stage!”
Rented a van from Andys – hit Foster’s and Blackbeards – and we were on the beach by 1:30! After missing our trip in 2011 due to our youngest son’s wedding, it was good to be back!
Thanks for stopping by!
The moment we had been waiting for since 2010…the first sunset!
Smile for the camera Dad!
Happy to be back Mom?
Off to La Dolce Vita – but our first visitor stops by the condo!
Our friends that have a condo told us that we had to try several new restaurants they discovered. La Dolce was first on the list and the food was outstanding! Patrick said it was the best salmon he had ever had!
And Debbie agreed!
We ended the first night by stopping by the Westin to see our friend George Davidson. He didn’t disappoint as he played Danny Boy and told us some of his many jokes! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
Day 2 – Shannon Arrives
As always, we started the perfect morning with a walk south down SMB!
We even got Patrick to join in!
Some toys at the Westin
Patrick stops to sculpt a sand castle! (Just kidding!)
The Ritz absolutely does not belong on SMB! Even with it’s fancy beach beds & toys!
One of my favorite toys out in front of the Ritz has always been the Oscar Mayer Wienermoboat. It was not there this year so this is the best I can do!
Bubba (Ryan) bought me an underwater point and click camera for Christmas so it was time to test it out.
Debbie volunteered to be the guinea fish…
What a sport!
