I know the hurricane starts in June in the Caribbean. But I don’t think it get into full swing until later. Is June a fairly safe month to come? I don’t want to get stuck in a HURRICANE!!! :redbite:

    Hi tjcollins,

June is a great month to be in Cayman….in my opinion, of course ?

The more active season for the area is September and October when the storms develop just south of Cayman and Jamaica… and then turn North!!

Enjoy your stay!!! I’ve been there in June and never felt a drop!! Just a beautiful time of the year!!!

As far as I know there has never been a recorded hurricane in Grand Cayman in June.

Will be visiting Cayman Island May 27-June 10. What does the forecast look like for this time from those of you down there. Will be bringing friends from South Dakota for their first time and hope to be able to show them lots of sights in BRIGHT sunshiney weather.

There will probably be showers from time to time but at this point there doesn’t look like any heavy duty storm activity. Again as we usually say even if it says rain, unless we are in a tropical storm activity situation the showers tend to be shorter rather than longer and it doesn’t tend to be island wide.

Staying the week of June 10-17. What is the outlook?

I know Grand Cayman needs rain. But, I sure hope it gets what it needs before I arrive on 14 June (apologies to those currently on Island on holiday).

We do need the rain but it really has not been raining very heavy. It’s mostly been cloudy with a little drizzle and the occasional shower. I expect pretty much the same until the low pressure surrounding us moves; it could be a few days, which will also effect my plans this week. I was planning to shoot the new beach dinner show at the Marriott and another new show that I plan to announce soon. Unfortunately, rain and cameras do not mix very well.

I hope it clears up soon and all of our members enjoy happy and sunny vacations. ?

It should clear up in a day or two and you can expect mostly excellent weather, failing another low pressure system, which I would say is unlikely.

Unfortunately it was a soggy old night in my neck of the woods but it looks like it is clearing up a bit and there is a lovely cooling breeze at the moment.

By the looks of the weather map and the Palms your getting some pretty nasty weather.

Not the best beach day..Although i would take over what i’m doing now.

Well it appears since Wednesday we have received over 9 inches of rain so yes we are a bit soggy and the weather reports are indicating a bit more rain for us but the long term forecast shows it clearing up in a couple of days. In the meantime there is the potential for a depression to form but it should pass over us before it moves up to tropical storm.

This is most unusual for this time of year, if it moves to storm level it will be the first named storm of the year which I believe is Alberto.

Anyhow, there is plenty to do even when it is raining here which I will post in my blog soonly.

In the meantime, we do need the rain so that all that wonderful local produce that many of our recommended restaurants uses can grow and be available ?

If you are here on vacation right now, so sorry for our liquid sunshine but perhaps you can enjoy a Cayman Sunset in the form of a drink ?

Meanwhile I’m going to go slog my way through hound walking and grocery shopping and Saturday morning errands and hope this is not a tropical storm that will hit the US!
