A foot+ of snow, 25 to 35 kt winds, snow drifting over the hood of my car, high temp of 8F overnight with temps dropping into negative teens…..

Can someone tell me why I am not on Grand Cayman right now?! Even the 2yr old Labrador Retriever doesn’t want to go outside.

Anyway, warm thoughts to all of us getting hammered with this storm. Stay inside, stay off the roads, and stay warm.

Ahhhh yes, DS…… It’s bad(?) here, too. The weathercaster is predicting a low of 78 (it’s 79 now at 5:30) and it’s gotten too rough for any water activities. I noticed the sea is dingy-looking for about 200 yds out and big rollers coming in. Radar shows “your” front still about 60 miles away. If it makes it to the Brac it will turn cooler but the wind should ease off. I really can’t complain about the weather….. it’s been very pleasant the last two months and we’ve had enough rain to keep everything pretty and green. Life is nice in Paradise….

It’s cold here too. I think it got down to about 72° last night ?

Think warm thoughts and please stay safe. We saw on the news last night people are dying it’s so cold!

COME ON DOWN and WARM UP! We’ll be sending warm thoughts. :palm2:

Brakker1: What’s up with all this rain in the winter???

The climates they are a changin’ ?

    Hi Joe,

I haven’t gotten weather forecasting down pat as yet and am not good at explaining why after it has happened, but I sure have enjoyed our last few months! Maybe Mother Nature ran short of hurricanes this season and sent some extra rain instead.(?) Beautiful day here today and the seas have started to calm down a bit.

    Hey brakker and Joe,

Good to hear from you both. We finally got dug out. I spent several hours on the tractor and have snow piles the entire 600 feet of the driveway.

The Labrador Retriever likes the snow drifts to play in, but she still likes to come in and get toasty in bed.

Lucky for us we haven’t had any power outages or anything from the snow so we are fortunate.

Here’s the driveway looking toward the road if the picture loads up…http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/forums/userpix/%5B/img%5D

Well, that didn’t work. No picture. I tried the first option and then the second upload option. Hmmm. I’ll work on it tonight after work!

    Cheers,

OMG! They aren’t kidding. You really are getting some snow! ?

Here’s a photo to keep you warm until you can visit again (not mine).

    DS,

That’s a lot of snow to move! I’m glad you had a snow mover! Very pretty picture with the trees and clouds, but all that snow and cold make it an obscene scene for me…… I can’t handle the cold anymore. Actually, I didn’t handle it worth a darn when I lived up there in it. Stay inside. Stay warm.

    You’re killin’ me Joe!

Stay inside my butt, brakker! The lab pup wants to go out and play all the time and we got to a balmy 15 degrees today. I almost went out in my bathing suit to get a tan…

And it’s a good thing that my car has tinted windows, otherwise the all white thing would have been lost in the drift!

Hot cocoa with bourbon is about ready for sipping!

    Cheers!

I was glad to have missed the snow and bitter cold……came home to piles of snow and rain….luckily we have a plow service so our driveway was nice and clean.

There sure was a lot of rain in GC the past couple of weeks. I felt sorry for the people who were there for just a week.

I did get in a bit of paddleboarding which is leisurely fun…grandkids liked it too.

    Shelly,

    Welcome back to reality!

We finally got a break from the bitter cold, and now the roads are ice rinks… When does spring come?

Spring comes for me at around 1 pm. That’s when we land at GCM. Not the Key West has been that bad…

If you make it up for the shore dive st Macabuca, have some coconut encrusted shrimp for us. A plate of them and an ironshore bock would be perfect right now.

    Cheers
