Don’t be telling me that kids aren’t agreeable when they’re teenagers! I keep waiting for life with preschoolers to get easier.
I am sure you guys will have a blast! Have you started packing yet?
Its funny you ask that ? , I took the suitcases out of the attic yesterday. I guess if you start packing early it seems like the trip get here faster !!!
Teenagers – easy — YEAH OK

You know what they say—the bigger the kids, the bigger the problems.
Each age has its own set of problems associated with it. As they get older, the independence that goes with it is great, but somethings that can create issues too. Hopefully, you will go through life smoothly with your kids.
Shelly ?
P.S. Lisa – I was /am perfect!
As for raising kids, spend good quality time with them, play with them, love them, but don’t forget the discipline too. Teach them good moral values, what is right and wrong. It all equals out…… Most of all enjoy them, for they grow up way too fast!
Everyone going to the Caymans………….pictures and reports for us at home please!!!
Thanks for the kind words. I missed responding back to you.
I got the whole family hooked, and I think I could have convinced them all to go again this year, but I am afraid I will also have to wait for my next Cayman trip.
So, what I need someone to do is duplicate my entire trip and tell me all about it. Every bit. And take LOTS of pictures. And most importantly, eat as many conch fritters as possible and tell me about every detail of their yummy, yummy taste.

Sorry you cannot go to GC this year and I loved your trip report too….you are right not to risk travel at 30 weeks gestation…….you and baby are much safer at home in case of complications. I know you will miss being there…….one good thing…….time flies quickly and next year will be here before you know it.
Wish I were the one going to take pictures and each conch fritters until they come out of my ears.
It is sometimes difficult for me to talk hubby into repeat vacations…..although we both loved Cayman, we’re going to try another destination this year. So far GC and Aruba are our favorites.
I know it makes sense to stay home, but what fun is that?!
Until then I will be awaiting the full conch fritter report.
knees,

I know……but at least you have had the opportunity to travel when your children were small……..and you will have that new little monkey to enjoy and they pick up so much from the older ones…….that new monkey may be snorkeling sooner than you think……..so, here is a big hug to you and your family……..greasy conch lips inclued at no charge……
Thanks! I only wish we could be there again in a few weeks! We’ll get this new baby all geared up and ready to go for the next year. The camera is a Fuji A500 and the housing was WP-FXA500. I know they have newer models out now. I think we got both the camera and housing for under $150. It was well worth it for me to be able to take as many pictures as I wanted, put them on the laptop, and go out for more the next day. It was also so convenient to be able to have a camera on the beach that I didn’t have to fret over. Was it perfect? No. But it was well suited for our needs.
I just checked Amazon. They have a Fuji housing for $58. It fits several cameras from 6-9MP. They are all between $100 and $150. There may be better deals than that if you look around!

Howdy!
Didn’t even see this reply to me!!! Wow another little one……… when is this one due………..those were the days! All of mine are gone…
Moms, just make sure your kids know that you love them unconditionally. YOu can be mad at their actions, but not them, praise goes alot further than criticizing. Spend little moments with them, it is a BIG thing.
As technologied as their world is going to be, keep them limited to it. Nothing is more important than a game of ball with Dad outside, or baking cookies with Mom. One important thing that we did 99% of the time was eat the evening meal together. It was our time to talk about the days activities, you can learn alot from just listening to them. The youngest was 8 years younger that the other two, so there were times when we ate later than the normal time, I would feed him before hand, but he was ALWAYS there at the table when we sat down, no matter what time.
Let your kids be kids too. Limit activities outside the home when they are older too. It runs you ragged, and stresses your kids too. Music (piano, a horn) is a wonderful thing. Just be the best parent that you can be, isn’t that why you had your kids? I was a stay at home Mom, I wasn’t perfect, but I did my best. There is nothing more rewarding than to have your older children call you for advise after they have left the nest…….the words “Mom, you were right!” or “Mom remember how you did this? I want to do that too.” make you feel good! OK, sorry for the babbling……
