Absolutely OUTSTANDING trip report, Mike! Love the descriptions and photos – the couch potatoes make me laugh out loud! I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t want to join you on a beach walk in the morning…daylight’s burning!
You have wonderful memories with your family – and those are priceless!

Your next vacation is where we are planning on going in 2012 for my 60th birthday! Now I’m the one who is jealous! Have a great time in Ireland!!
Can’t wait till this Saturday ….I’ll be also doing my morning walk everyday. Don’t want to waste a minute.
“trained” to interact with humans from the early years in Cayman, when fishermen would clean their fish and the rays would come and get a free lunch and grew to trust, and wait for the fishermen and their food. We’re talking apples and oranges here.
Steve also took over their “personal space” by closing in on them and they reacted in the way they have to protect themselves……….and, because of that, we all lost someone who loved non-humans, admired and respected them, more than most of us could ever imagine. That was a horrible event. The stingrays at Stingray City are NOT the same beings………except for the fact that we still MUST respect them, and their space and do NO harm to them……..sorry for the soapbox, but couldn’t help myself.
The blowholes were great this time. Are they still missing a few stairs to get down to them?
We could never get our kids (or anyone else) to go on the AM walk either. I don’t know what it is about Cayman but I’m always awake by 6 or 7 AM.
Debbie and I are the same way – 6:30 or 7 and wide awake. Don’t want to waste the day in paradise! I had the boys talked into it the last night but in the morning they said “Nah, why ruin the tradition!”
My BIL & SIL walked a couple of times with my daughter but they did it in the afternoon – too hot at that point of the day.
The Waterford was about 30% cheaper than the prices up here. It was definitely a good deal. It was a Waterford shop down one of the side streets in downtown Georgetown. I think it was called the Waterford/Wexford shop.
There are some pretty good instructions here…http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/forums/images/ButtonHere.gif
When you return from your trip, just give it a try, and if you have trouble, just ask. We can help!
