Yes, we are neighbors. My son plays hockey in Rolling Meadows. ?
are the blowholes close to seven mile beach?
No, the blowholes are almost to the East End.
Snorkel…you definitely need a car if you are staying on SMB. It’s probably a 35-40 minute ride.
We’ve scheduled a drive to the blowholes and are working on a snorkel trip to the Kittiwake! Thank you so much for the report! :thumb:
What is the name of the condos that you stayed in? Look nice from the outside.
Plantana. It is in a perfect location on Seven Mile Beach and the condos are all very nice. Our favorite is #9.
You report definitely helps with figuring out which things to do on the trip. Thank you so much for the time you put into making this report. It truly helps the novice!
We are hoping to go for spring break but the prices are ridiculous for condo rentals. :clapping:
Hi sean0317,
Welcome to the CAG!
Glad to hear you’re looking at GCM. Yeah, condo prices can be pricey, but look around our site and you’ll find some ways to shave bucks off the trip.
And yes, Mike’s reports rock and give great insight!

Sean Summer rates are much better. Plantation Village, Georgetown Villas, the old Treasure Island Condos and others offer excellent off season rates. Check around and you will be pleasantly surprised.
Still not sure where we are going to stay when we come down in April. Lot of choices and a lot of areas to choose from. Is Seven Mile Beach the place to stay? Or is better to go to a secluded part at the East End or near Rum Point?

Hi Sean,
It pretty much depends upon what you’re after.
The George Town / SMB area has lots to offer as far as shopping, dining and water sports.
The outer areas like East End, Northside and Rum Point offer less people, less bustle, plenty of water sport opportunities and more seclusion.
Staying in the outer areas for the quiet and then driving into SMB and George Town a few times works well so you can get quiet where you stay and then go in for the activities.
Feel free to ask anything else you think of.

Sean…I agree with DS. SMB is where all the action is and the outer areas are peaceful and quiet. If you don’t like to drive while on vacation, SMB is probably your best bet!
Does this qualify as unlucky or what?
My brother bid on a three week stay in a 3BR Ritz villa at a charity auction on Saturday night and won it. Of course my sister-in-law called yesterday and asked if we would go with them as “official” GCM tour guides! Now you all know I have expressed my opinion about how I feel about the Ritz in my trip reports – but 10 days for free in GCM!
I’m not easy but I can be bought!
The bad news…I used up all of my vacation and sick days for the first six weeks for the rehab from the hip replacement surgery!! Today is my first day back to work and I don’t think it would be a wise career move to inform my boss that I will be heading to the Caymans for 10 days later this month!!
Arggggggghhhhhhh! ? ? ?
Mike,
Yep, that stinks!
Try asking your doctor to write you a prescription for more time off and take it as Family Medical Leave Act time. If all else fails, try inviting your boss along for the ride.
Or, if you can’t get the time, we could, ahem, find a volunteer from the CAG to accompany them…
