SHELLNNYNJ – Good guess but it’s not about location.

Parasailing is a common site along Seven Mile Beach and a lot of fun. The views from up there are amazing. Give Parasailing Professionals a call when you get here. You’ll find a discount in Activity Guide for booking direct.

In reference to fish, GOOGLE (my niece works there!) tells me shoal and school are interchangable in describing a “bunch” of fish swimming together .JMHO

Sue – That’s pretty close. :clapping:

All groups of fish that remain together are a shoal.

A shoal becomes a polarized school when all the fish are synchronized in a common direction:

ALL of these places look fabulous. It doesn’t seem that there would be anywhere on GC that would not be a wonderful place to stay; however, there must be some not-so-nice places! We just don’t see them because Joe has already weeded them out for us!!! Just more proof that the CAG’s recommendations are the only way to go.

Thanks for the scrumptuous pics, Joe!! Love ’em!!

Thank goodness I am finally down to just double digits on my countdown ? Absolutely can not wait!!! :spin:

thanks for the wonderful photos……and the info on the shoal/school of fish difference……also I didn’t know the name for those shimmering fish, but LOVE to snorkel around them.

One question…….how can there be 5,000 in the water right in front of you or next to you and nobody gets bumped into….AND I LOVE to see the sun on them in the water……..ethereal.

How did Comfort suites get such a huge beach, in October they basically had no beach.

    #24649

    ralphy57,

I know! Isn’t that beach amazing now?

In December, the Cayman government undertook a much anticipated HUGE beach restoration project in that area. I copied some pictures from the Plantation Village website and posted them. You can see them if you CLICK HERE

That, plus these winter storms, norwesters and such, often do bring a lot of sand back onto the beach in that area.

This is a bit late for this in this thread but my wife just forwarded a link to an article that describes this ship as well as the larger (yes, larger) one that he owns. The one he parks at Grand Cayman is the one he uses when he happens to be in that part of the world.

This is in the south end of Seven Mile Beach, near Grandview. Besides the spectacular view, it’s a good place to snorkel. ?
