Glad your vacation turned out o.k., KJ69. It wasn’t the greatest weather but June is one of our wet months…… although we were getting very dry until you came and brought the rain. I’m looking forward to seeing your trip report!
Hi Brakker1,
We are leaving for GC this Saturday. What does the forecast look like for the upcoming weeks? I keep seeing the websites I follow change from rainy/cloudy to sunny/cloudy.
Hello flaxx!
Talk about a short-timer……. You’re practically here already! At present the only thing I see is a disturbance breaking away from the ITCZ and heading in our general direction. My prediction (which as mentioned before, should be taken with a few grains of salt, lemon, and a Corona) is that it will swing back to the east and affect Haiti rather than the Caymans. If this is what actually happens you can expect the “usual” weather during your stay…… a chance of a short shower now and then. June is a nice time to visit. The water is fairly warm and there is usually a breeze to keep it from getting too hot.
In the event my prediction is wrong (Heaven forbid!) and the disturbance makes it to the Caymans we could have two or three days with heavier showers…… maybe even some lightning and thunder. At present I see no other bad stuff on the way. Hope your visit is great in every way!
Brakker1…
Thanks for the weather update and your predictions. Obviously I’m hoping you’re right that the “disturbance” bypasses Cayman, and I’ll gladly drink that Corona in your honor. If we do get those heavier showers, so be it.
My real concern is that our dives aren’t disrupted. We love being there in late June / early July. That little breeze on the east end of GC does keep it from getting too hot and diving without a wetsuit is very comfortable.
Oh.. and I’ve been ‘practically there already’ for the last couple weeks. I’ve been practicing my “island time” mindset and am quite proficient at it now.
Thanks again for the information.
Flaxx: can’t wait to read your trip report! We’re going in 39 days to the East End…
3stoogesmom,
Leaving for the airport in a few minutes. Looks like we will hit the rain but we are crossing our fingers it blows out as quick as possible.
Brakker1… I will still have that Corona. :drinking:
Brakker1… I think I’ll have a 6-pack in your honor. The only rain that hit us was coming out of Hurley’s with the groceries and by the time we had them in the car it had stopped. By the time we got to the East End we were starting to see blue skies again.
Now it is off to the ocean for us. :split:
I was a little worried about the weather when I kept seeing the rain clouds but when we got there it was sunny almost all the time. It rained once pretty hard but only lasted for about an hour, then sunny again.
Flaxx,
We will be flying in the day you head out…hoping for nice blue skies for both of our trips. But like my husband says a little rain in the Cayman’s is still better than being home at work!!!
MY HUSBAND AND I WILL BE STAYING AT THE WESTIN FIRT WEEK OF JUNE 2013. WE USUALLY GO TO ARUBA. WE WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT THIS TIME. HOW IS THE WEATHER EARLY JUNE? RAIN? WILL IT RUIN MY DAYS LAYING ON THE BEACH
Who knows? We were there the first week of July one year and it was sunny every day…less breezes in the summer….however summer is hurricane season but I think early June is better than later in the summer. hurricane season is June 1 to Nov.30
Bringing down some friends June 7-14. First thing they asked was weather conditions that time of year. Can anyone help me out for what I should tell them. Thanks everyone!!
