Thanks folks for all the advice. Is it true that it doesn’t rain on the entire island? We are staying East End and have read that it could rain there and not on 7MB or vice-versa.

tellin’ the truth here Don P……we have stayed on both the East End and 7MB and we’ve experienced it, as have many others……..did you think I was making that up? Have fun, safe travels and sun filled, worry free days,

    Thanks Celine,

While the weather is important it’s not the only thing. We’ve never been to Grand Cayman and are looking forward to it. We’ve rented a car as we’ve learned that staying on the East End requires it. We’ve got lots of books and our individual IPods so entertaining ourselves won’t be to difficult. Also have that dependable deck of cards for joint activity and other things. Thanks for your words.

Anyway, just in case you do get a cool, “off” day, or just feel like exploring, one of my favorite places for that kind of thing is St. Pedro’s Castle. You can read about it here – http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/forums/images/ButtonHere.gif” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image” />

If anyone goes to the castle I would suggest stopping into Durty Reid’s new location- it is so pretty out on the deck- and of course the food is great

like spicy food? get the backside burner!

You’re welcome! The Botanic Gardens are also quite close to the Reef Resort and is a wonderful tour……..just get there early before the day gets too hot! You’ll also want to check out Rum Point and Kaibo and do a sunset cruise! Pure bliss. Celine

I wanted to plan a vacation in the month of June but I read where May and June is the wettest months in the summer. Feedback please. Should I change vacation to month of JULY?

    Hi TFENDLEY and http://caymanactivityguide.com/forums/images/WelcomeAnimated.gif” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image” />

Like Celine said, June is one of the best months to visit the Cayman Islands.

June is usually one of the most consistently sunny and calm months in the Cayman Islands. Failing any tropical disturbances, you can count on average temperatures in the high 80’s to low 90’s with 60-70% relative humidity and very little—if any, rainfall.

When I was running a Cayman dive company, I always looked forward to June because of its typically wonderful weather and calm sea conditions, particularly in the north and west areas of Grand Cayman.

In June, you have a better than 90% chance of encountering predominantly sunny skies and clear calm waters. Don’t let the forecast clouds fool you; as a tropical destination, the Cayman Islands are subject to sudden showers that typically turn into warm blue skies within a matter of hours, if not minutes. For a compilation of all Cayman Weather parameters you could also visit our main website Cayman Weather Page.

You may also want to look through the various restaurants, activities and attractions here in our forums to view the many photos, videos and discounts for the places that most appeal to your individual preferences. Then add them to your personal must do list http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/forums/images/addnowlist.gif” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image” /> and print it out before you leave to serve as a reminder of all of your favorite things to do.

Another helpful read may be our Vacation Lifestyle article which can be tremendously helpful in selecting the property and area of the Cayman Islands that best meets your individual needs.

Be sure to book through our http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/forums/templates/SoftBlue/images/HotelSearchLinkIcon.gif” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image” /> for the very best rates and free perks for Activity Guide members. ?

You may also want to visit our Transportation form to obtain the contact information for Andy’s and Economy, where you will receive very generous discounts—up to 40% in some cases, for your vehicle rental.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like for specific details and assistance in your selections to ensure that your visit to the Cayman Islands yields the absolute highest value and greatest return on your valuable vacation dollars.

    Have a wonderful vacation! ?

Can anyone tell me how the weather is out there right now. We will be arriving June 5th and staying for two weeks. The forcast has been showing all rain for the first week. I don’t mind a little but we are hoping it won’t be too bad ?

    Hello KJ69!

Weathercasting in the Caymans is not a sure thing…… Far from it!!! I can tell you how it is now, though. It was partly cloudy and warm today with a high close to 90 and a low of about 78 this morning. Variable winds from about 4 to 12 mph from the east/southeast. Seas were calm (on the north side). Rainfall total for the month (so far) .37 inches…. for the year 1.94 inches. We could use some more rain! This info is for Cayman Brac…… GC generally has more rain and may be a little warmer inland. June showers are generally of short duration and are only a temporary inconvenience. My weather prediction for your stay is

    “Beautiful”! Have fun….

    Hello Brakker1,

Thank you so much for replying. You have put my mind at ease. We are so looking forward to this trip! Don’t mind a little rain, but it started making me nervous when I saw the forcast saying all rain for the first week out. Thank you again for your reply.

I tried to reply to your message, but it is saying I do not have the privilege to send private messages.

We started our trip on Seven Mile Beach for the first 4 nights. It has been a bit wet ? We are here in Rum Point for the rest of the trip. It did not rain today, but the water was not as clear as smb and rough. I told the family I think it is due to the weather and from what I hear it usually is a lot more calmer and clearer. The weather looks like it is going to be better from the weekend on (we are hoping). Have you heard anything? It still is beautiful out here and we are having such a nice time. Thank you for all of your input and help.

KJ69, I’m glad your vacation hasn’t been a complete washout. As mentioned, predicting the weather here is not an exact science. I would have bet the low pressure area that produced all the rain would have turned north before it got here…….. but it didn’t. So much for my weather predicting! We still have clouds here in the Brac with a few small showers lingering on but I believe now the rain is headed back north and east. (This is another of my forecasts. Take with a grain of salt, lime and a Corona.) Look on the good side… We needed the rain and the darn thing didn’t get worse as predicted at one time. I will PM you some weather-related info. That way you can be as good at weather predicting as I am.(?)

Brakker1, we are now back from our amazing vacation. Even a little rain did not dampen our fun. We had an amazing time. Grand Cayman is beautiful. We kept thinking we were living in a post card. I can see why you end your posts with “livin a dream”. Thank you for all your input and help. Hopefully we will be back in a couple of years!
