Shannon had “homework” that was due on Monday so she was not able to join us at Alfresco for dinner on Sunday night. What a shame, because in my opinion, that is the best blackened red snapper on the island – and I am not a fish eater!!!

GREAT photos and trip report again Mike! LOVE the flight progression photos….usually my eyes are filled with happy tears as we get close, so I’ve only seen blurry Cayman arrival views!images/smiles/icon_crying.gif” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image”/>

Celine…it was a shame that we didn’t get a chance to meet!

We had appetizers and cocktails at Macabuca and they were all very good! My bro-in-law really enjoyed the tropical cocktails but was disappointed that they didn’t come with little umbrellas :wine:

Hope you had as great a trip as we did!

Once again, Mike, just a wonderful trip report (and I know you’re not done yet!). :clapping:

It is so obvious that yours is a family that absolutely loves being together and building these memories each year. I think that you would be happy no matter where you would go together, but you choose to visit Cayman each year. How special is that!

I also love the way that you notice and appreciate even the smallest things around you……..the palm tree in the parking lot…..the tree on the beach that has grown nine feet tall since Ivan……the delight in your little nephew’s eyes as he takes it all in.

What a great family! Thanks for sharing them with us and making us feel part of all of you! What we see of Cayman in the background is just a bonus!

Love the sailboat centered in the sunset picture.

Thanks for sharing all your wonderful photos.

:clapping: :clapping: So glad I tuned in after hubby told me he posted a couple questions here…Mike your report and pictures was worth it! It gave us a great insight to the island……the crowed Ritz beach commentary was too funny :spin: Thanks for the giggles too,

    Wendi

The better half here, thanks for the pictures. I use the I have fallen and can’t get myself a beer often especially since I am the only male in the house.

My vacation is in July and I literally swelled up with tears at the sunset pictures. how beautiful. Also, where is Macabuca? Is that a restaurant. I think my hubby would like to snorkel there. Also that red snapper looks delicious. Ill to check on Alfresca. It really looks like you had a great time with your family.

Don’t mean to answer for Mike, but thought I’d just jump in and post the link to some information about diving/snorkeling up at Macabuca (actually the Turtle Reef at the Cracked Conch shop). Check it out here http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/forums/images/ButtonHere.gif” alt=”” title=”” class=”bbcode-image” />

Macabuca is the great new outdoor tiki bar which is part of the Cracked Conch restaurant (read about them in the restaurant section of this forum).

Also, in the same location, is the dive shop …..that’s who you will deal with if you want to go snorkeling. They have all the gear for rent right there and they’ll give you good advice on where to go to see interesting things, and how to avoid the currents, if there are any that day.

    Great spot!

Thanks Char. When you say you deal with the dive shop to go snorkeling you dont mean you have to pay to snorkel right? You just have to go through the dive shop to get the ladder.

    #55508

Oh, yes, absolutely! No charge to go snorkeling, and even if you don’t rent any equipment from them, you should check with them about the conditions that day and that sort of thing. They’ll try to watch out for you as well, regardless of whether you paid them a dime.

Wait till you see the ladder….you practically walk in….it’s almost like a ramp.

I have a lot more to come! I just ran home from the hospital – Debbie is still in and they are running more tests. I’ll post some more pictures tonight – Day Four is a visit to Sting Ray City with the Soto’s so I have some good sting ray shots to post tonight!

Andy…I was getting nervous about my bro-in-law – he was too “into” those tropical drinks instead of his normal beer and red wine! I especially didn’t like when he held out his little pinky while drinking them!! (Just teasing you Kenny!!)

Thanks for all the kind comments :thumb:

    #55515

I meant to say that I hope the best for Debbie!

    Our thoughts are with her,

    Char
