Patrick and his velcro buddy The Little Dude do some wave hopping and riding. We have never seen waves like this in the previoous six trips.
Trust me, they are in here somewhere!
Then the light bulb goes off in my dense head ?
The Blowholes have to be spectacular with this wind and waves! So off we went to see God’s gift to tourists!!
Bathing Cayman style. They inched closer & closer until they were right in the thick of it! Patrick & Kelly creep in first followed by Kenny & Kevin, aka TLD.
The Blowhole could be one of the most awesome sites that I have ever seen in my life!
Back to reality and the Yates!
Pat Squared as they came to be known for the rest of the week!
Cecelia & Johnny – our pretend grandkids for the week! Three years ago CeCe was in her floaties. Now she’s “all grown up” and Johnny is in his ever present life jacket.
We also found some time to resurrect pool football. The Little Dude had his ups and downs. The downs were always “way too high Uncle Mike” never slippery hands!
Pat Y found an intersting visitor crawling around the pool deck!
Crab on a stick. Sounds like something you’d get at a sushi restaurant!
Day 4 sunset…
I see you! The winking eye sunset!
Sunset people and CeCe does her model pose!
Guess the 18 pounds I lost for the trip haven’t sent the memo to my stomach yet!!
Ah, the Sunshine Grill! The used to be Best Kept Secret in the Caymans! We went to LaDolce Thursday because when we got to the Sunshine Grill they told us it would be an hour and a half wait. Only an hour wait on Sunday and well worth it!!!
Day 5 begins looking normal…
Biggest waves I have ever seen in GCM! I may be too close to get the effect in a picture, but these were 3-5 footers!
We got back to the condo and had an early morning visitor! Cece came in and said “I have a loose tooth!” So Debbie told her to twist it and voila! – a visit from the tooth fairy was scheduled!
The KC’s and Shannon headed to town so Debbie, Patrick and I went to Calypso Grill for lunch – or so we thought – they were closed. So we went next door to Morgan’s Harbour and had a great lunch that included a four-legged visitor that was clinging to the underside of the dock below my chair! He didn’t eat much!!
I am going to pause here for the night! It’s taking about a half hour to load each day into Photobucket and my eyes are starting to cross :typing:
I hope you enjoy the journey so far!
Great pictures! Sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Our kids always loved it when a northwester came in and the waves picked up. Trying to catch them on the blow up rafts was always fun.
Looking forward to the rest—bet you wish you were back in Cayman and out of this cold rain we’re having.
Shelly…it was brutal getting into the jetway at ORD last night! We left and it was 80. Got back and it was 46! But we had a terrific time! Did some new things, ate at some new restaurants and got reacquainted with new friends! There is no more peaceful and relaxing place on earth!
Awesome pictures, Mike.
Keep them coming. Glad your trip was great.
