Not that I have a problem granting license to CAG to use my photos and of course anything I type I don’t care about.. But I didn’t expect to be giving up ALL rights to the photos. Not so sure others are aware of this either.. I guess we need to all become lawyers before we post and make sure to read things several times..
In any case, as I read that statement, it would definitely make me pause about uploading any good pictures or even personal ones because I wouldn’t want to give up my ownership and rights to the picture. As I said though, I don’t have an issue granting CAG to use the picture, I just would want to make sure I still have the rights to the photo to do whatever I want with it.
Seems like that in order for me to assign rights to the photo, CAG would have to be in control of the photo (which they aren’t when we host them on our photobucket). Anyhow, I’m no lawyer, but it does give pause.. Maybe I should post my duplicate no so great photos instead of the keepers..

I will just say that, even though the TOS says all that, I think that Joe always asks people’s permission to use one of their pictures if he ever thinks he might like to do so.
This discussion is way out of my league (legal stuff, etc.), but I also think that the rules are also in place in order to protect you from having other members “steal” your pictures…..not just that the CAG wants to use them.
Your pictures are so fabulous…..please don’t stop posting them. Although what you call your “duplicate not so good” pictures are probably incredible too.

I have also wanted to do some more work getting videos done, wish I would have taken more pics and videos when we were there. I did take a ton of sunset pics though!
rjsimp sounds like you have a lot of tech. knowledge, feel free to share any with me! I am really just learning.
One of the things that makes this site so special are the pictures and it would be a shame to lose so many of them. Please go back to your Trip Reports or any other topics that you have posted pictures in, and if your pictures are no longer visible, please go into the hosting site and resize them.
Most people seem to be using Photobucket, and they make it really easy to do. Click on the word EDIT over your picture in Photobucket and then you will be given a choice as to which size to resize to. Choose 640 x 480 for message boards (or even smaller if you like)……..that’s all there is to it! It automatically resizes the picture here on the board. You need to refresh your screen in order to see the pictures back at full size, but don’t worry….it works.
Oh! If you have trouble identifying which picture you need to resize (cause they’re so small), Captain Jack had a great hint! If you click on the Quote button for your post, you’ll be able to identify the name of your photo in the link that you pasted in. Great hint, Jack!
It would be much appreciated if you can help us out with this
Thanks everyone,
Char
Lets see if I can fix them
any volunteers?
It’s really not so hard….just go into your photobucket account and click on the pictures and hit “edit”. Then click “resize” and choose the appropriate size for message boards….640 x 480 pixels.
Then, they’ll all pop back up!

Thanks for the help!
It was much easier than I thought it would be.
Hopefully others will go in and adjust theirs as time goes by so that we can see them all again…
