Jana – You could shore dive at Cemetery Reef but there are far better places. ?

Boggy Sand Road is a beautiful tranquil area that not too many people know about. It’s behind the gas station at the 4-Way stop just as you reach West Bay.

You will see vast expanses of pristine beaches that are never crowded.

It’s the perfect place to stop and read a book or just relax and let your mind wander.

… or just find a secluded shady spot and take a nap by the sea.

This is towards the very end of Boggy Sand Road, close to where you make the turn to go towards the Turtle Farm.

Ahh Joe LOVE LOVE LOVE All your shots. If only I could be there taking along side learning all there is about the cozy spots of Cayman. :rockbed:

What time of day was your last shot taken? ?

I find photos look much more crisp and stronger in color in the morning, and the later it gets the brighter and more pastel the colors become.

Would you reccomend a specific tim of day for photos? (Bride to be photos ? )

    Rgds,

    Michelle

SHELLNNYNJ – I took that picture at about 4pm and it was heavily enhanced in Photoshop, which is why it looks so different from all the others. I like to shoot in the early morning or late afternoon because that is when there are the most shadows, highlights and contrast. We planned our wedding to correspond with the sun setting on the beach and the pictures came out pretty good. It was right after 9/11 and we had to cut back on our photography budget so we did not use the person I had originally wanted. To shoot portraits properly at dusk or sunset you need external lighting to balance the subjects with the background. Our ‘budget’ photo shoot did not include the extra lighting so our images are not nearly as crisp and dramatic as I would have liked. If you hire an experienced professional photographer you can be fairly certain of getting quality images at any time of the day. Another thing to consider is the heat factor between 10am – 2pm, which can cause perspiration, running makeup, etc. ?

This is just past Boggy Sand Road, near the dock by the 4-Way stop in West Bay.

So is that area just past Cemetery Beach or quite a bit farther down?

Nancy – Boggy Sand Road is about 1 mile past Cemetery, towards West Bay. The pictures start at the southern end of Boggy Sound and end near the dock as you make the left turn after the 4-way stop towards the Turtle Farm. That whole area is beautiful and secluded – cruise around and find the spot that’s right for you. Don’t forget to bring your snorkel gear. ?
