Amazing trip report Char, complete with videos and all. I loved every word and image – all except for the photo of me! ?

    Hello Char,

Very nice sunset pics :clapping: … the lobster looked tasty!! :burger: Nice to video too. I did have a couple of questions  ……When you did the shore dive at Ollen Millers at turtle reef did you go North or South? I take it you just rented tanks there… was it about $10??

Thank you, once again, everyone, for the very nice comments. I’m glad that so many of you enjoyed the report and photos. Sorry I didn’t have a better picture of you and Peggy, Joe! Can’t believe I only took that one!

RC…..shore dives at Ollen Miller’s Turtle Reef at the Cracked Conch are $10, but the guys used one of the Activity Guide coupons for the Dive, Dine and Drink for $19. That gave them the dive, an appetizer and a drink! Actually, there’s another coupon in the Activity Guide for 10% off the $10 shore dive, if you don’t want to use the other one.

As far as which way they went……I wasn’t with them…..I think they went south…..but not sure. What people do is to ask in the shop which way the current is going that day, and then, of course, you start your dive against the current, so you can come back in with the current.

When we went snorkeling there, we went to the North, due to the direction of the current.

Hope that helps….not sure if it did.

Those photos are beautiful — are they posted via photobucket at the 640 x 640 size? Did you change the dpi? Did you have to edit the images before you posted them to whatever host site you used? I’ve read the instructions on here, but haven’t tried it yet (just trying to plan ahead for my upcoming trip report).

Fun to see something of a photo of Joe and Peggy — would be great to have a face front shot! (My daughter was wondering if they were the couple in the Macabuca/Cracked Conch ad in the Nov 2007 CAG).

When I did my trip report I had to resize them before I uploaded to photobucket-otherwise it took way too long or didn’t even load. I believe the size to use is 640×480 and I did that before uploading. I basically followed the instructions from CAG and it worked well. Haven’t done it since then so I will have to review it all if I’m going to post while we are in Cayman this year.

    Thank you, mecllap!

Actually, photobucket lets you choose what size to upload your pictures, so if you choose 640 x 480, it will do the resizing for you. No need to do it yourself ahead of time.

Then, just copy and paste the “image” tag or address into your post here on the board.

When it’s time, just ask and we’ll help.

Char — thank you — that does make it clearer. It’s been a few years since I’ve posted photos that way and I was worried that the rez might suffer.

Oh dear- just looked at the webcam — looks a little dreary. Guess that’s the nor-wester, and it should be long gone by the time we arrive in a week (I hope).

Really fantastic report, with the videos and all. I’ve been to Cayman several times, still learned a thing or two from this report. :clapping:
