Economy Car Rental - Vehicles for any budget
Economy is in the process of upgrading their website, which will soon include a discount code for our members; similar to the way it's currently being done at Andy's. You will be able to go to their website and enter a code that I will announce in the next few weeks, which will take you to a screen that will display your special reduced rates.
In the mean time, you can still receive discounts by simply mentioning the Activity Guide discount and contacting them at:
Economy is also offering further reduced rates on later model cars, some as much as 40%! And not only the rental rates but the insurance is also much lower for later model cars. This is a way to save some serious money with your car rental if you don't mind a few dings and scratches. And you donít have to worry about any mechanical failures because all of Economy's vehicles are mechanically sound; they have to be, in accordance with our local laws.
Because of the ever-changing rental car rates, I urge our members to comparison shop and always get quotes from both Andyís and Economy. They offer the greatest selection of quality vehicles at the lowest prices with reduced rates for Activity Guide members.

mbentzen........YIKES, you do believe in booking rental car early...just noticed you're going over Thanksgiving! Smart thing to do, I'm sure.
Have to say that we just booked the car with Economy for April trip and will report on them when we get back, but so far I'm LOVING them! Got email replys almost before I finished typing! Price was great, cars look good and even if we opt for 100% insurance coverage, it is only a little more than we paid for an Avis car about 6 years ago with NO insurance....none, zero, zilch, nadda!!!! YAHOO, more money for restaurants!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Celine, I always plan WAY ahead of time, LOL!! Actually, Thanksgiving week is busy and things rent out fast, so I don't want to be left walking all week! Plus, better safe than sorry. I'm still waiting to find out if my sister & brother-in-law can afford to go before I reserve a car, won't need as big of one if they don't go. Sure wish they would hurry up and decide! Have a trip to Wisconsin in April to see family, got that all planned out, reserved, and paid for before the end of 2008.

Andy's is across the street and a little to the right.
Economy is to the left I think
That's correct .... once you exit the terminal after Customs, turn left and follow the sidewalk right across the street and you will see all the major rental car agencies .... Economy is right there.....
I used the above e-mail address to inquire about a quote for a car. I got a very nice reply to Danny, but he was forwarding it on to Luis for an answer. I thought maybe Luis's address would be the one to be posted in the thread.
I'm not having much luck with car rentals. I sent a second message in three days to Economy with no response, and the discount for Andy's wasn't working although it gave no indication on the site that the code was invalid for the dates I selected. I may end up booking one of the traditional companies via Travelocity at this rate (they were less expensive than Andy's rate).
