I was just going to post this question. I really do not want to do the sting ray since we did that in Belize. But would love to go out for a few hours over a wreck. Did you go yet? If so please share!!!!! Laughing

You'd probably have to get a private charter for that because Stingray City is the main snorkel spot in the Caymans. Most of the Cayman snorkel boats go to 2 sites, with one of them being stingrays and the other at a reef. There are lots of great snorkel sites you can go to free from shore. There are a few topics about that here in the snorkling section.

There are snorkel trips to the Kittiwake, which is an artificial reef that was sunk in January, and some snorkel cruises available. Not sure if any of them are CAG approved though.

oh, thanks. I figured i would have to wait until we got there. I found a great one for 3 hours in St. Martin, so i am sure i can find one in grand cayman. if not, i will just have to float around until i find a wreck to look at rolllaugh

I made reservations for the stingray snorkel trip, they said the second spot is called Coral Gardens. Is that near the Kittiwake artificial reef? Or is it possible to do all three? We are all set on seeing the stingrays but would also like to snorkel at the Kittiwake if we can do it all in the same time.

Hi,

Coral Gardens and Stingray Sand Bar are not very near the Kittiwake. Let me see if I can find a map for reference...

Hi,

http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/DiveSites.htm

The Kittiwake is close to where Cemetery Beach is noted on the map. The Sand Bar and Coral Gardens are both located withing the friendly confines of North Sound.
