Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort is located directly on world famous Seven Mile Beach; the resort offers 307 beautifully appointed and spacious guest rooms. Their four deluxe oceanfront suites & twenty junior suites can accommodate the most discriminating clientele.

The resort also features a full service spa, fitness room, beachfront freshwater pool and whirlpool, salon, gift shop, tour desk and concierge, all completely remodeled and upgraded to the highest standards. Their pool and courtyard areas flourish with tropical foliage and a gentle turtle lagoon.

Britannia golf course—the islands affordable visitor friendly resort course—designed by Jack Nicklaus is located just a few miles up the road at Grand Cayman Beach Suites (formerly the Hyatt).

The Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort is more than a port of call. It is a destination in itself: "A Destination Where it's All About You!"

Sol Bar offers a complete lunch menu, but its famous Beach BBQ is a favorite of hotel guests and islanders alike. As the stars come out over the beach and the sea, breath in the island breezes and enjoy an after-dinner drink from an extensive list of superior wines, brandies and liquors from the Marriott?s own cellar.

Balboa's Lounge
Located in the center lobby of the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, Balboa?s Lounge is the very heart of hotel?s activity. Rich gold hues surround you as you look out onto the Marriott?s own turtle lagoon. With a cool cocktail in hand, you and your friends can sink back into comfortable couches and chairs where local artists proudly displaying their especially-commissioned pieces adorning the surrounding walls, lively Caribbean musicians, and even cigar rollers bring the island?s culture right into the resort for your enjoyment. Balboa?s Lounge offers full bar and light meals daily specializing in Tapas and Martinis...106 varieties so far! As evening sets over Grand Cayman you can revel in a glass of wine, Cognac, Armagnac or other fine liqueur while you listen to some of the best live music on the island.

I have stayed at the Marriott twice (once before it was a Marriott). Last summer, before Ivan, Wade and I were VERY impressed with the accomodations, staff and service. I can only imagine how WONDERFUL it is now that the renovations are complete. We can't wait to see it all in person...hopefully next summer.

For anyone who is a Marriott rewards member, as is my hubby, save up your points and use them there! This is a category 5 hotel, and we stayed there with points for FREE last year! You can't get a better deal than that!!!!

cman, Welcome to the forum!

The Marriott just finished a multi-million dollar renovation and it looks brand new! Be sure to click HERE
for a review of the Marriott and information on the CAG discount! It is located on a wonderful spot on Seven Mile Beach. You can walk to many restaurants and shops from here. We usually stay in a condo right next door to the Marriott. I think you will be happy with your choice! Very Happy

Hope this is helpful!

cman

the marriott is well located on central/south SMB. as Kim noted, it recently completed a fairly extensive renovation and is an attractive property.

post-Ivan it reclaimed yards of beach as did much of SMB. hopefully this years storms have not washed the beach back out to sea.

the snorkeling off the marriott is actually quite good by SMB standards. much of it in <10ft of water.

I just wanted to add that my wife and I have already booked our stay at the Marriott. I emailed Nadia at Marriott and because I mentioned the Activity Guide discount she upgraded our room from a standard room (no view--probably parking lot) to a courtyard view room. We are definetly looking forward to our stay there...will arrive in only a few days!!! Razz Smile Thank you Joe!

I have some new pictures of the Marriott and want to share them with everyone. This resort has been remodeled into a virtual palace. The design and use of colors is awe inspiring; they have captured the very essence of the Caribbean in the most upscale and charming manner imaginable. Although their rates remain surprisingly affordable, The Marriott Beach Resort is now one of the most lavish and exotic properties on the island.

You will receive a special 15% discount by making your reservation with our

If you plan on staying at the Marriott be sure to ask for your Activity Guide discount. Even if you are staying somewhere else I would highly recommend at least dropping by and visiting this incredible and culturally significant monument to ultra high end Caribbean architecture and design.

As soon as you enter the resort you are struck by its magnificent lobby. With comfortable overstuffed furniture, vaulted ceilings and windows everywhere you will find yourself mesmerized by a unique blend of modern and traditional Cayman culture and beauty. Featuring local crafts and exhibits the hotel itself is a virtual attraction and warrants a visit.

Balboa?s is their new upscale martini bar featuring exotic hors d?oeuvres and an enormous selection of vodkas. Trendy travelers do not feel far from the metropolitan mingle at BALBOA?S LOUNGE. Located in the center lobby of the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, BALBOA?S is at the heart of the hotel?s activity. Dotted with intimate two-top tables, soft candle lighting and oversized area rugs, the lounge brings a swanky savor of city life right into the lobby of the resort. Floor to ceiling glass windows showcase the outdoor courtyard alive with fragrant flora, a gentle turtle lagoon and lush native plants. The outdoor patio, speckled with overstuffed sofas and chairs, invites local artists and musicians to bring lively island culture right into the hotel. The extensive Martini menu tempts thirsty palettes with more than 100 versions of the beverage; from the ?Green Flash? martini to a creamy Mudslide, there is a flavor for each hour of the day for a whole week. After trying the beverage menu, the delicious Tapas bar is an essential chaser. From Shrimp Catlunia with Piquillo and Pepper Sauce and Croqetas de Jamon on the ?warm menu? to the Salmon Marindo with Roasted Red Peppers and Asparagus on the ?cold menu,? BALBOA?sa teems with authentic Spanish culture and ancestry.

The rooms are spacious and appointed with every conceivable amenity affording remarkable panoramic views of Seven Mile Beach. Every room has just been completely remodeled to the highest possible standards. You may never even want to leave your room!

Whether making memories on a milestone anniversary or mingling among friends in celebration of ?finally taking that vacation,? Solan on Seven Mile Beach, a fine dining experience at Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, is the place to be. Poised atop a cozy, canopy-covered patio perched directly on the beach, the restaurant is ideal for relishing breathtaking sunsets, afternoon summer breezes and the soft swishing sounds of the Caribbean shore. Laced with white linens sprinkled by brightly colored place settings and surrounded by vibrant displays of tropical orchids, the ambiance suggests fine dining while maintaining the calm charisma of Grand Cayman. Creating the ideal scene for an after-supper saunter, Solan is the only truly beachfront fine dining experience on Seven Mile Beach. Diverse delights range from Curry Infused Chilean Sea Bass and Porcini Encrusted Lamb Cutlets to refreshing daytime dining with Caymanian Turtle Fritters and spicy Jerked Calamari.

If you are thinking of getting married in the Cayman Islands the Marriott can provide everything at surprisingly affordable rates. Imagine having your reception right here after a gorgeous oceanfront ceremony during sunset. They have a full time wedding planner on site who can take care of everything for you. It wouldn't hurt to mention the Activity Guide discount for that too. Wink

Complete conference room and business facilities are available for conventions or large groups requiring private meeting areas.

Photo Update: February 12, 2006

There are ponds and rivers that meander through much of the property. This section surrounds the ocean front restaurant, Solana.

This is between the turtle pond and the river around Solana.

The recent beach project was a major success and worked out exactly as they planned. Even after two nor'westers the beach is much larger than before they deposited the extra sand. There is room for three rows of lounge chairs and then some. They are currently at 100% occupancy and there is more than enough beach to comfortably accommodate their guests.

More shots of their beautiful pool area.
