Shangri-La Bed and Breakfast

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us how much you loved the Shangri-La......I've been waiting to hear back from someone who has stayed there. I'm so glad that it was everything that you had hoped for.

If you have the time, we would love to hear more about your visit to the Caymans!

It was fabulous to say the least. We had a stylish one room which was very quiet because it is located in a quiet area of West Bay. We had our own entrance to our room, off the pool area and a gigantic Jacuzzi in our bathroom! There's a four poster kingsize bed, two chairs, a gigantic dresser with Mirror, Coffee maker, small fridge, TV, DVD player and BOSE stereo equipment. The decor and details both inside and outside of the room were contemporary, stylish and magnificent.

We often ate breakfast outside at the round dinning area with four chair seating, off the pool area. Under the trellis surrounded by beautiful flower gardens, listening to the waterfall cascading in to the pool and watching the natural surroundings of Cayman. When weather didn't permit they brought us personal folding tables for inside the room.

Also, the price is amazing for all that you get! Exclamation

Anyway, my Home computer died as I was downloading my pictures to Photobucket... crying

which is why I haven't posted any TRIP Report info. Char maybe u can download the pics onto the site...that did download? love

I have a further question about Shangri La... I heard that it might not be in the best part of town, can anyone comment on that?

The area seemed fine to us. Its just that u have to drive to get places. We hung out by the pool morning noon and night...and didn't hear or see any shady people.

We went out to Calypso Grill and Cracked Conch at night & all was fine.

The little liquor stores on the road heading toward Shangri-la seemed like mom and pop shops but still wasn't dangerous of any sort.

My husband and I are staying here in July. I can't wait. I have a cousin that lives there going to med school. Him and his wife stopped in there to check it out for us. They were very impressed with it. When I called to make reservations I talked to the Father of his son that is on the web site with wife and dogs. The Father said that his wife goes out and feeds the iguanas there. I will get pictures of this event.

We're still not 100% committed, but wherever we end up staying, I have to say that George is one of the nicest, most friendly, helpful and informative, of all the many nice replies and discounts we received with the hotel search.

We have stayed there twice now, in 2007 and in February of this year. Yes, George is a very nice man, and very helpful. He offered to book our rental car with Andy's for us, and it worked out great. I really like Shangri-la, as the price is affordable and it is away from the hustle and bustle of staying on the beach. Unless that is what you prefer, of course! The houses are beautiful. I would recommend it to anyone.
