I highly recommend this condo to anyone seeking very affordable and more remote accommodations with a beautiful beach and good snorkeling. On the far northern end of Seven Mile Beach, this secluded getaway is an island unto itself. To get from here to town you must pass through the congestion zone so this is not the best place for anyone planning on doing extensive traveling around the island. It is best suited for those who prefer a more quiet and relaxing vacation at the most affordable price. There is absolute peace and quiet here, absent of any construction noise, traffic or congestion. There are many Activity Guide approved restaurants and activities in the immediate to short term area, without ever having to pass through the congestion zone. Wink

I am glad you got a great rate. You'll love The Anchorage.

If you are getting a car be sure to use Andy's or Economy and take advantage of your Activity Guide discount. Wink

One small bit of advice: I notice that you are staying for about 2 weeks. I don't think you need a car the whole time since you are staying so far down the beach. I am hoping you selected that location because you are seeking mostly a relaxing vacation with not a huge amount of time spent driving around every day. I recommend a car for maybe 1/2 your trip so you can see all of the wonderful attractions the Cayman Islands have to offer. Then spend a week with total isolated relaxation at one of the most remote and tranquil properties on the island. Very Happy

We have stayed up in that area for many years and always rent a car for the whole time. Even though we don't use it a lot--there is always something you have to run to the grocery store or the liquor store for. We never go into town anymore and just hit Fosters at the Strand or Fosters up in West Bay which is very close---but when you need a big stock up or meat, you really have to go to the Strand.

We found that it was great stopping at the store after we went out to dinner. It wasn't busy at all then.

There is no discount offered to Cayman Activity Guide members at this place. I inquired about it for off-peak season and they said there's no discount.

Pandl - If The Anchorage did not offer you a welcome gift in addition to their lowest published rates for being an Activity Guide member, it must have been an oversight. I would ask Judi to rectify the matter but you are already reserved with a different property. I am sure you will be happy with the condo you selected and the rates they gave you for your Activity Guide membership.

For the entire 2007-2008 winter/spring season, The Anchorage extended their old lower rates exclusively to their repeat customers and our members.

All of our recommended properties offer different discounts, perks, gifts, upgrades, etc. to our members. Depending on the time of year, occupancy and other factors, the discounts will vary. I used the hotel search and the Anchorage gave me a free night, even though I'm going to be there after their free night offer expired, then they threw in a free welcome "surprise" gift to boot!

I'm sure you're going to love the Anchorage. The beach is wonderful there. And next door there is 300 feet of nothing. The complex that was there was damaged by the hurricane and ended up being torn down and I don't think they have started building anything yet.

We visited some friends who stayed there last year and they just loved it. We rented a house a house the year of Hurricane Ivan in Cayman Brac from Judy who manages Anchorage.

There is a nice little snorkeling spot in front of Christopher Columbus, which is the complex on the other side of Anchorage. Some very close in coral, that I always loved to check out.

I agree that the Anchorage is a great Place.We stayed there last year and will be again in a few weeks.The units are great,the beach perfect and the staff was wonderful.
