All members now have the option of rating topics in many of our forums.

In forums with ratings enabled, you will see a box near the bottom of the various topics that says: 'Rate Topic' giving you the option of assigning between 1 and 5 stars

to the topic. The more stars, the higher the rating, with each vote counting towards its cumulative average. Current topic rating and number of votes received will also be accumulated. When a topic reaches 5 stars, it becomes a sticky and remains as such unless its rating drops.

Ratings will not appear under our various search/sort features, as that would be somewhat distracting.

Each member will be allowed to vote once for any topic with ratings enabled.

Ratings apply to sticky topics so you can 'vote' for your favorite resort, restaurant, condo, etc.

Now you can now determine which topics are the most valuable and influence their positioning within our forums. Your ratings will also appear in our main website where visitors may use your ratings to help with their decisions.

So please rate trip reports, restaurants, activities and anything else that you have personally experienced to help our visitors make the best informed decisions.

I am happy to see so many of our members using our ratings. Please continue to rate your favorite topics. Very Happy

Our ratings now appear in our Hotel Search next to each of our recommended properties so your votes in the Resort and Condo forums will give new members and visitors a true member rating of each of the properties to aid in their decision.

I have activated ratings in several other forums, which you will see at the bottom of the topics in all forums that have ratings activated. I excluded some forums where ratings would not be beneficial.

In all forums with ratings activated, a topic with five stars automatically becomes a sticky and remains there for as long as a five star rating is maintained. Topics that are made sticky manually by a Mod or myself will appear above member rated sticky topics but will still be rating enabled. In other words, even though most of our recommended restaurants are sticky topics, please feel free to give them your honest rating. They will remain sticky topics regardless of their rating but it will be helpful for new visitors to see where our experienced visitors and members rank the various establishments.
