The blow holes were not very impressive yesterday because of how calm the sea was. I’ve seen them get up to 20-30 feet.

There’s a shady picnic area right across the street from the blow holes.

This is one of my favorite ocean views on the island. You’ll pass right by this area on your way to Lighthouse or Portofino. 😉

I just thought this little roadside store looked cool.

That’s it for today. I have a lot more pictures to go through from yesterday and I am taking more tonight. In fact, I’m late! :split:

    Joe,

Theere is a stark rugged beauty where the ocean meets that hardscrabble coast. Surf looks rough, does anyone surf or swim there?

Really like the contrast. Thanks for more great shots. :thumb:

I am counting the days until we are there. It’s going to be so much fun to have the time to get out and explore the island. The first (and only) time we were there, we were on a cruise, and out time there was just too short.

    The pictures are wonderful!

I didn’t get much time to be on yesterday, but got to enjoy the photo show this morning Joe.

Just seeing how nice everything looks made my heart smile. I’m glad to see the blow holes ‘going’ and how gorgeous it all is.

Thank you for doing this for all of us. I know it made my morning happier! 🙂

Off to warm up the car before heading to work…its 7 degrees out, as I shiver in the cold, I’ll think of you all warm and sunbaked there, taking wonderful photos! ARggggg.

    Hi Tigerboy.

We hope to see some of those pictures when you get back. If you have time, could you snap a few pics of the Morritt’s rebuilding process and post them in the timeshare folder? I’m hoping to get into the Tortuga Seaside units in may 2007. Have they laid a foundation yet, or are they still working on existing buildings?

kurtis – Here’s a shot I took of Morritts two days ago. It looks like it’s coming along nicely. 😀

Castaway’s Cove by the Reef Resort is looking good.

Here’s the new mall they are building up there.

Joe, That mall looks like it won’t be much longer. Any word yet on what it will have and when they think it may open. Would be nice if it’s before I get there in March.

There’s nothing, except actually being there, better than seeing new pictures. Keep up the GREAT work.

jpep – The water is always a little rough there and the beach is mostly rocky. I don’t think it would be a good place to swim or surf.

ajtux – I don’t know what they are putting in the mall. I think there is a discussion about that in one of the Reef Resort topics. 😉

There are a lot of these exotic rock gardens in East End, many growing wild. Some of the plants are actually growing right out of the rocks. That’s a Silver Thatch Palm in the middle, the Cayman Islands national plant.

There is also an abundance of colorful flowers and trees.
