I am getting married in the East End in July '08. I am wondering what suggestions people have for our guests that would let them enjoy the Cayman Islands. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks.

Is everyone staying on the East End? And for how long?

From that side of the island, its not that far to

The Botanic garden

Stingray city

Rum Point

check out the links on the main page of the CAG: watersports, dining, sightseeing

If they go to town and Seven Mile beach side, there are many restaurants and activities over there.

Have a wonderful wedding!

idea Perhaps snorkel Snorkel party at the Public Beach 1/4 mile east of Rum Point. If you swim out to the break water, there is a nice reef with plenty of stuff to see, and all you need is snorkel gear! Maybe even have a picnic grouphug dance1 , there are bathrooms, a changing facility, even a covered picnic area. All free! sun

And for those who don't like to swim out that far, there is a nice coral head on the right side of the beach not very far out. Good suggestions RC

And the beach is totally deserted. We were the only ones there when we went this year and most of the times when we drove by there were no cars and once or twice there was one car there. So you could have a nice private gathering.

Hi jdavey and congratulations. This whole forum is one massive compilation of suggestions and recommendations. Please spend a little time reading through the forums, watching the videos, looking at the photos and reviews and give us an idea of some of the things that appeal to you so we can provide more specific recommendations.

The Celebrations and Rebecca Davidson topics in our Wedding forum would be an excellent place to start. Wink

How do you get to the beach your talking about? I'll be coming from Morritt's so I'll be heading West towards Rum Point.

Thanks,

Bill D.

If I'm not mistaken, the public beach near Rum Point can be seen on one of our Cayman Activity Guide maps.......check it out....

I think it's just to the East of Rum Point, right where the little swimmer symbol is.......

Here is a picture of what it looks like.

[/img]

You will notice the steps as you drive along. I tend to drop hubby there and he snorkels to Rum Point while I drive over. He always sees amazing coral and fish.

Heidi,

Thanks for posting the picture for clarification.

Looks like you have completed the move to CO. Hope all went well and you are settling in. Smile

Bill,

You might miss it, but it's there --about a couple blocks east of rum point. Kind of look in to your right as you are driving along--the sign is not real evident from the road.

Great picture Heidi---this year we drove by it a few times before we found it again and figured out what house it came after.

I appreciate the ideas. Everyone will be staying on the East End during that week. We are planning on taking a trip to SMB/Georgetown to stay busy, but also want to know what other ideas you have for the East End. Thanks. Justin

Hi John,

Move is still in progress but almost complete. ThumbsUp

Living in the city is very different to living in the suburbs of NJ but so far so good.

Just need to find time to go back to Cayman. Exclamation

How about a trip with Cayman Kayaks? It's 2 hours and they run a morning and afternoon and also a sunset trip. They leave from Kaibo.
