We are planning a renewal of vows ceremony when we are back on the island in April. It will just be my husband and I. We won't have any family/friends who are able to attend. So we are looking to keep the costs down. I would like to have a small bouquet. Instead of using a florist, I was wondering if the grocery stores have floral depts (like the stores in the US). I though perhaps I could purchase a couple of bunches of flowers and make my own posy bouquet.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I see that no one has answered your question about whether or not the grocery stores sell flowers like they do in the states. I was hoping someone else might know and would have answered you by now.......as many times as I've walked through those stores, I honestly can't remember seeing any cut flowers. Maybe others will know.....

There are several florist shops in Grand Cayman.....I would think you could pick up some cut flowers there and accomplish the same thing.

Sounds like fun!

Flowers are a really an integral part of a wedding ceremony and this looks like a great way to save money on one of the more expensive parts of a wedding!

I was at Fosters today in Savannah and saw a few bunches to fresh flowers--I would assume that the other Fosters would have them too. They didn't have a lot and I didn't check their prices---but you could have put a nice little bouquet together.

Shelly :-)

shelly - GREAT idea IDEA!

It's such a great way to save on flowers for anyone on a budget I made this topic a sticky.

Flowers would be about half the price at Fosters grocery store than any florist. I have bought Peggy flowers many times and Fosters almost always had fresh roses with baby's breath and other beautiful arrangements.

Obviously they will not have the same level of selections as most florists but if you want to save huge on what can become a costly aspect of your wedding or vow renewal ceremony, Fosters supermarket would surely be the first place to look and see if they have arrangements that suit your particular tastes.

Good luck and congratulations!

thanks so much for this info, e are retaking our vows on 18th january and are using marlendas wedding services $600 inc 36 photos so, well pleased with price, we get a butonhole and coursage but I want a bouquet and am a floristy by trade anyway, so didnt want to be paying silly prices for something i can make myself, I have alread purchased a pink bucket and spade for my little girl and also a wand to which i will pin the coursage.

for myself i am bringing some florist tape, satin ribbon some pins with pearl heads (to stick into flower heads) some pearl picks and a beautiful bouquet holder which is in silver metal with smal 'branches' that can be arranged around the edgewhich have small diamonte on them, so have been looking for a post just like this to see if ordinary bunches can be bought, as I will only need a small mixed local flower bunch or 12 roses max, doing it this way is so easy for anyone and can save you $100's on flowers.
