I am getting married this upcoming July at the Grand Marriott Hotel and Spa and we are hosting a welcome dinner for our guest the night before. I was wondering if anyone could offer up any suggestions. We are looking for a place that can seat about 50 guest at $150 a head (this includes drinks). I was looking into the Lighthouse and the Grand Old House, I like the Lighthouse for the cuisine - italian/seafood and I like the Grand Old House for the ambiance. I would love any feedback/suggestions.

Hi 72508 and welcome. Very Happy

Many Activity Guide restaurants would be perfect for this very important occassion. Some of the very best of the best that are all oceanfront and have dedicated or partially dedicated special event areas would include (in random order):

Grand Old House

Lighthouse

The Wharf

Hemingways

Pappagallo

Fisherman's Reef

Cracked Conch

For something this important, it would be well worth your while to visit our restaurant forum and view some of the reviews, photos and videos to give you an idea of exactly what you will be getting.

It would also be a good idea to visit our Wedding forum and read some of the reviews for many of the places listed by people who have used those venues for their special occasions.

Whatever you decide be sure to mention that you are an Activity Guide member and you will receive the VIP treatment and best possible prices. Wink

Congratulations and have a wonderful vacation.

Grand Old House is a very special place and would be a perfect choice for your welcome dinner. It is about 10-15 minutes away from the Marriott by cab. The Lighthouse, while also nice, is about a 45 minute ride from the Marriott, doable if you have a car but the cab fare there and back would be quite costly.

Thank you for your suggestions. We have decided to go with the Grand Old House. After reading all the reviews and speaking with them on the phone, we couldn't resist. They were so nice and accommodating to our needs.
