We will be celebrating our 6th Wedding Anniversary on Feb 11th in Grand Cayman. We are so happy to be going back to Cayman. It has been far too long.

Any recommendations for a nice dinner? We are staying on the East End at Morritt's. We have always gone to the Lighthouse. I think we need to try somewhere else.

Thanks,

Jen

JenVi,

Welcome to the forum.

Staying on the East End, you'll be right close to one of my favorite restaurants, Portofino's.

Portofino's is excellent. Better still, there's a coupon for them on the activity guide. Click on the "Coupon" link at the top of the page and there is a 10% off coupon that will appear.

The meals, atmosphere and view are all superb. You won't be disappointed.

See ya,

DS

Cool. He's got more ambition than me. clapping

I'd get frustrated after a week or two and give up! That, and the Mrs probably wouldn't fly in anything that I built. Sad

Hi--just got back from 4 weeks in cayman and ate at both restaurants--enjoyed the Lighthouse much more than Portofino. The food was good at Portofino, but I found the sauces too heavy on what we ordered. I had fish and my husband had chicken kiev, which was nothing like the chicken kiev we've ever had, but my husband said it was good.

There is also a coupon in the CAG for the Lighthouse---which I forgot 3 out of the 4 times we ate there. Sticky Toffee pudding for dessert was great. Also had an excellent calamari appetizer that had fried onions in it.

Hi Jenvi,

For your anniversary, I would recommend the Grand Old House. It's not really that far of a drive from the East End. We celebrated our 25th anniversary there in December. The staff made it a wonderful evening by providing us with a private table on the water's edge with awesome service and WONDERFUL food.

Have fun.

Thanks so much everyone for the suggestions. I will have to talk to DH and see what he thinks. We may end up going to the Lighthouse since it is a special place for us. My first date with my DH was in Feb 2001 and we spent 7 days in Cayman. We returned 1 year later and got married. We have always eaten at the Lighthouse. Maybe I can get him to try something different.

There was a special table all by itself at the Lighthouse --sort of a balcony off the main restaurant. Maybe you can reserve that--one night when we were there I saw it set up for dinner, but never saw anyone eating at it.

I would call them and ask about it. I sent them an email with a question and never got an answer.

Shelly :-)

We had our 25th anniv dinner at the Lighthouse last year. The food was great as was the dessert they presented to us for our anniversary. I think there was a pic of that in my trip report somewhere.
