Water Temperature in December

Hi, first post here:

Does anybody know what the water temperature usually is in December. We plan on going December 5 - 12 this year.

We are deciding between Grand Cayman and San Salvador (Bahamas) and are specifically looking at the water temps.

The water temp is nice and warm in Dec. I found a site that said the high temp in the winter is high 70's and mid 80's in the summer--We are there is Dec. and Jan. and it's delightful. Our son always dove with a lightweight thingie(no clue what they're really called)--not a regular wetsuit.

Hi BMSPORT,

We were there over New Years 2006-07. I just dug out our logs and checked the temps. We regularly got readings of 78-80 regardless of depth. I would expect to see the temps about the same, maybe a degree or so warmer since it is earlier in the winter.

Have a great trip wherever you go. We've been eying San Salvador also and will get there eventually.
