The last time I was in Grand Cayman in November was in 1994. Two words. Hurricane Gordon. I figured it was a fluke and decided to return November 2008. Two words. Hurricane Paloma.

Okay it's not a hurricane yet but it's on the way. We're still here, waiting on the word to evacuate. It's been Murphy's Law this week with me. I'm not even sure I should file a trip report because I don't want to scare anyone, LOL. But maybe I will - for the humor factor and to show people what they can do here in the rain. Kep fingers crossed!

Hi Ant,

I'm so sorry that you've had so much rain on your vacation, and now it looks like things may be turning for the worse! What a shame!

I know you'll make the best of it, though, and we'd love to hear (read) all about it!

Stay dry!

Char

Hmmmmmm..... I was wondering why we were being blessed with this way-too-late after-season hurricane. C'mon Ant.... stop attracting those hurricanes. I had told Bonnie that there would be some disturbances come up from the south but I never predicted or expected this. One never knows, does one......... Darn! I hate all those get-ready preparations.

Hang in there Ant - I really don't think that even worst case scenario will result in destructive hurricane force winds affecting the Cayman Islands. Stay safe and dry and please keep us posted on the latest conditions. Peggy and I are still in Miami trying to decide what to do.

Our Continental flight was postponed from Saturday to Sunday. So looks like my family is riding this one out... Michele is excited, Rolling Eyes . Not me though. We are moving to a different condo Friday morning (higher ground - our Castaway's condo is on the first floor). I even updated my trip calendar to reflect the extra day, haha.

Good luck, Ant, and to all the others in the path of the "Dove". (I guess Paloma means Dove).
