The only time I can get off this year is September. Is the hurricane risk too high then?

Hi babasa - Welcome to the forum. Very Happy

I've been here for 12 Septembers now and have only seen one hurricane in September in all that time. I would think that the odds of another one any time soon would be extremely high. Wink

September is a great month to come because it is our slowest month of the year. You will not have any crowds or lines to deal with and will receive even better than exceptional service wherever you go. I'd say go for it. Come and experience the best vacation you ever had in your life. Very Happy

You will have no problems getting a tan. It's always "hot" there. Heck, I can even get a tan here in NY in the first 2 weeks in Sept...

How is the weather in September. I see the temp is around 83 but what about rain, wind, ocean temps and surf conditions? All info is richly appreciated. Linda

We'll be on GC from Sept. 26-Oct. 3rd this year and, looking at the forecast showing 60% chance of showers, I'm a little worried we might see more rain this trip. Can anyone there on the island tell me what the weather has been like the past couple weeks? Has the rain been widespread or spotty around the island?

We've visited the same week in September/October twice before, the first time was during hurricane Lili in 2002 and the last was in 2007 which was for the most part beautiful weather, so we've kind of had the best of both worlds. I am just wondering what the cards hold for us this year. If anyone can provide some insight, please let me know!

Thanks!

Welcome and thank you for your kind words.

I see nothing here nor at our main weather site that would indicate anything but near perfect weather for the next week or so.

Enjoy your vacations. Very Happy

Hey everyone, great website! I planned most of our vacation here and reserved our car and condo, along with several tours. We had to postpone our vacation because of Hurricane Irene so we are going to be there in late September. I heard that's the most active time for hurricanes in the Cayman Islands, and the satellite images are full of scary looking things going on. Is this normal for this time of year or more active? Can anyone venture a guess as to how the weather might be for the end of September? We've waited so long to see the beautiful islands, then had to postpone, so really hoping for at least some sunny weather and NO HURRICANES!!! ThumbsUp

I want to add that all of the places we booked through the Activity Guide were very helpful and understanding in allowing us to reschedule our dates without any penalties or fees.

Hey, fantastic website! I used it to plan almost our entire Cayman vacation. Now I'm getting a little worried about the weather. The forecast is calling for rain and storms and the satellite images seem to be extremely active in that area of the Caribbean. Does anyone know if this is normal or not for September? We've never gone this late in the year.
