Hi Paul - Welcome to the forum. Very Happy

The weather in July is usually excellent with any rain typically being isolated. It might rain hard for an hour or so then clear up and be sunny the rest of the day, or it might not rain at all. Unless there is a storm in the area you can expect mostly sunny skies.

If you decide to stay at Comfort Suites, be sure to ask for the Activity Guide discount. You will also get a 20% discount on your car rental at Andy's if you book online and enter CAG20 in their discount code section. Wink

Hi Paul - wave

Welcome to the board! I just got back and wanted to add a few comments regarding the rain.

1- We had some rain a couple days but on one of those days it was raining on west end of island and sunny on east end. sun

2- It rained some on our second day. We were still adjusting to the driving on left and such. For whatever reason the turn signals and windshield wiper controls are on opposite sides of steering wheel we are used to at home. So on rainy day, it is not so embarassing turning on the wipers instead of blinkers when preparing to make a turn. After a couple days we got used to this - then today, my first day home, I turned on wipers for turn signals!

(Hope that made sense. I am tired and must get up early for first day back to work. Sad )

Have fun!

It looks like it will be dark and rainy for a day or two. So much for my theory about beautiful weather right after a storm. :?

sun Look on the bright side of it Joe, the rain will make all of the greenery grow! clapping Which in turn will make the Island look like it used too, beautiful and colorful. It is already that, but the rain will just enhance the island beauty!. palm butterfly dancing :fish2: palm heart dance1 handshake ThumbsUp sun kchick

kchick - The island doesn't need too much more greening, it's almost back to normal. All this rain is getting depressing. Bash

harold smith - Yes, the blow holes are blowing again. Diving is a good thing to do when it's raining because it does not rain underwater. Razz

I think it will clear up in a day or two, but I probably shouldn't say that or it will rain for another week! rolllaugh

harold smith.....

Definitely don't aim for Rum Point on a rainy day. It won't be nearly as much fun as it would be in nice weather! It's all about laying in a hammock, eating a dolphin (mahi mahi) sandwich or burger and sipping a mudslide or a rum punch outside at a picnic table while in your bathing suit.....it's a warm day destination.....

Like Joe said, you could still dive or even take the submarine on a rainy day. Lots to do...even the Turtle Farm wouldn't be so great in the rain......go shopping, take a nap.....read a book....kick back....wait for the rain to stop, which it will.

You'll have a great time no matter what you do.....

harold smith,

Just wanted to add a little apology....I see now in another post that you have been to Cayman many times so you didn't need me to tell you about Rum Point and the Turtle Farm....

I forgot!

Have fun no matter what you decide to do and be sure to tell us all about it when you get home Smile

Char - Excellent idea idea Rainy day submarine rides are extremely fun and in the case of something like the Bubble Sub, even romantic.

kchick - In theory, yes it could happen if you were shallow enough. In all likelihood, take the odds of getting struck by lightening and multiply that times a googleplex. That should just about give you the chances of getting struck by lightening underwater.

We went on our stingray sandbar trip in the rain on our last day, not on purpose, it just worked out that way, and we had a blast. There wasn't any thunder or lightning. I mention it just to say I wouldn't necessarily cancel if it were raining...

2 more cents,
