Hi ScubaCalGal - Welcome to the fourm.
I lived in Hawaii on Maui for 5 years doing mostly diving. There are more pelagics there, but everything else here is much better. You are going to absolutely love it.
Hurricane season runs from June to November, and as caribbeansun mentioned, most likely during October and November. That said, with the exception of Ivan we have not been hit with a major hurricane in almost 80 years. The odds of you encountering one here this year are about the same as getting hit by lightening.
September is the hottest and most humid month of the year; the other two months are slightly cooler and a bit less humid. If you spend most of your time in and around the water like most people this will not be an issue. Those months also have the best prices, most special offers and fewest people.  |
