I figure since I'll be in the area for a week I might as well finally go fishing. I have seen fishing tours everywhere I go, from North Carolina to the Caribbean islands, to cruises, but have never actually tried my hand at it.

What fishing company should I contact to give fishing a shot? I have no gear, no pole, and have no idea how to fillet a fish, but want to try it all anyway.

Anyone out there that you folks know of that don't turn away us with no skills or experience? We all need to start someplace.

Welcome to the forum LordJezo Smile,

Don't worry, no experience necessary to try fishing in the Cayman Islands! We recommend Oh Boy Charters for fishing trips, and you will find a 10% discount coupon for them in the back of the Activity Guide!

Oh Boy Charters has different types of fishing trips, and offer both full or half day. If you are the only one interested in your group that wants to fish, they can help match you up with other people who might be looking for others to share the cost of the charter.

They supply all the gear, the bait and the expertise. They will help you with all of it! If you do catch some fish, and you want to take home enough for a meal or two in the condo, be sure to set that up at the beginning of your fishing day. They will clean the fish and send you home with a couple of fillets.....no problem!

Here's the link to our information on Oh Boy

Good luck!

Char

Oh Boy is right! I never new fishing was so expensive. $1,000 a half day for deep fishing, $600 for Reel Fishing half day.

I guess this is normal? I've never looked into this before.

Yep, it's normal pretty much. That's why you really need to find others to share the cost. If you're really interested, just give Oh Boy Charters a call, and they can tell you if they have a party looking for another person.
