Cost of Cayman Islands Driving Permit

I read where you have to have a driving permit when you drive in the Cayman Islands. We are arriving on a Saturday. Can you get a permit on that day. And how much does it cost?

It costs $7.50 and you get it when you get your rental car ... they just add it to your rental charges ...
