Hi My husband and will be arriving soon to the Reef Resort, on the east side of the Island I have heard alot about Andy' to rent a car. We would like to go into SMB to site see and have a romantic dinner. Any suggestions for the best way to get there, should we take a bus or something and then rent a car, or is there a car rental in the area of the resort. Thanks

woodyisland52 - You can rent in advance with either Andy's or Economy and receive a very generous Activity Guide discount. Staying in East End, I strongly encourage you to rent a vehicle for the duration of your stay.

Have a wonderful vacation!

Joe is absolutely right. The Reef Resort is a great location but it is only a small amount of Grand Cayman. There are tons of things to see and do around the island, and limiting yourself to staying on the East End will short you of some great memories.

With a car you can visit eveything from Kaibo to SMB. Doing so with a taxi from the East End would probably be quite expensive.

Definitely check with Andy's. A rental car will add immensely to your vacation.

woodyisland52.............there is really no question here..........RENT A CAR and do it from ANDY'S OR ECONOMY! You seriously will get a great discount from the CAG coupon and you NEED a car.......trust me, I want nothing more than for everyone to have the best experience ever on Cayman and PARTICULARLY on the East End, you NEED a car!!!!!!! We have been staying there for years, and though there is a lot there....you would miss SO MUCH by not having a car!

Get thee to the car websites use your CAG discounts and book the car.....hurry, you're kinda late here for booking already! GO........and let us know how you did. If it looks like you're having trouble, let Joe know.........he'll do everything possible to fix things! Don't want to worry you, but people usually book MANY months before their trip.........and this is the most I've ever used CAPS in one response..........get it.....(?) BOOK ALREADY!

If you have to take a cab to rent a car near the airport, that would be pretty expensive. I would definitely rent a car for the whole time---My husband is a beach bum and would be happy to sit on the beach and do nothing, but occasionally we like to go out to dinner and if you don't have a car, that's pretty much a problem on that side of the island.

Shelly :-)
