We're staying in Cayman Kai, and looking at the map I think we're going to want to limit the number of trips we take to the other side of the island, and it doesn't seem worth it to drive all the way to Georgetown for a boat excursion that's available nearby. That said, I have only found one tour option at Rum Point and it's quite a lot more expensive than the ones that leave from Georgetown. Is there any way we could arrange with a Georgetown tour to pick us up at Rum Point or Cayman Kai? It looks like Stingray City is near enough that it wouldn't be out of the question.

Thanks in advance.

Cate

Hi mamacate -

Your best option is to contact Oh Boy Charters and arrange a private or semi private charter. Give them plenty of advanced notice and they will try to arrange a pickup for you at Rum Point or Kaibo. If you can get a dozen or so of your friends together you could have the whole boat to yourselves and save money.

Cate, we are also at Kaibo and we were thinking about doing a sting ray excursion but we don't want to go all the way to Georgetown. There are 4 of us and would be interested in going in on a charter. We are in B13 if you want to stop by.

Thanks, Diane

If there are a few people in Cate's party, you would have enough people for an Oh Boy private charter. They will pick you all up at Rum Point or Kaibo and it will work out costing less than paying individually.

Be sure to mention the Activity Guide discount. Wink

Thanks all! We just arrived yesterday (I still can't believe I'm in paradise!), so I don't know if Diane is still here but if you are write back and we'll try to coordinate. We have a huge party (21 in our group) but I'm not sure everyone will want to go. I'm just off to pick up the last person at the airport--lordy all those roundabouts, and half of them not on the map!

Nope, we are back home today. We went on the Rum Point Catamaran that goes on Thursday afternoon. It holds 70 people but it goes right out of Rum Point and is a good afternoon trip. They also have a glassbottom boat tour, but I would do the Catamaran. It was $50 per person and was 2 1/2 hours long. Have a good trip.. They weather was perfect for us.
