Can anyone recommend a place that does the Sting Ray City tours that aren't the boats that have a million people on them? It has been 6 years since we have been in Cayman and the last time we did Sting Ray City my DH's grandmother paid for a private boat. Needless to say we can't afford that kind of trip.

Thanks in advance.

We highly recommend Soto's Cruises for a Stingray City tour with small crowds. I think they rarely take more than 20 people on their boats.....you can read about them in a couple of threads in our Stingray City forum....one of them is here -

Good luck with your planning!

Hi JenVi, I second what Char said, we have used Soto's six times and there were usually between 10-2o people aboard.

Also I recommend you take your trip in the afternoon. All the cruise liners use morning trips so that time tends to be very crowded. One time we went with Soto's and we were the only boat at the sandbar!

Thank you very much for the info I really appreciate it. I am going to talk to DH about this and hopefully we can get something worked out. I also checked the arrival of the crusie ships and there are only 3 days when we are there that there are 2 or less cruise ships coming in so we will probably go on one of those days.

We always try to plan around the cruise ships, too. If you go in the afternoon there is also less of a crowd. We took our three year old and our two year old last year, and the LOVED it.

Thank you. I showed our 3 year old the stingrays yesterday and he said he was going to swim with them.
