Subject title says it all. I work during the days, and was wondering if I'd be able to go in the late afternoon/early evening.

Thanks.

What a great idea! go when it's dark and take a dive light with you! Altho it would probably be a little unnerving the first few times a stingray came from total darkness into your lights' projection.......

Actuallly, I would never go to Sting Ray City after dark. Go after work, but before dusk.

I'm with Sue, I think going to SRC would best be a day time activity, you would want to be able to enjoy them in full sunlight. I doubt that there is anyone who would take you after dark anyway. You could always do a weekend trip, don't they do Sat. or Sunday trips?

I was talking about going at like 4:30. Not 8:30... The sun doesn't set until 7:30 or so.

There's good reason to avoid going out there late in the day. I won't go into it here, but just ask any locals.

so that's a no then? Only morning dives? I'm guessing it has to do with either sharks or jelly fish.

OK - I can't just let this go Laughing - is it sharks, or pirates, or waves, or worse? I can imagine maybe the water clarity deteriorating through the day...

I agree, I need answers to this. What should I be avoiding about going later during the day/evening?

I am just guessing but I would imagine because if you are in the dark it would be much harder to see the stingrays and they you, you could startle one and come into contact with the business end of one. That would be the only way I could see ever getting stung by one because they are not aggressive animals. I have no idea what knid of eyesight they have so this is just speculation on my part.

Stingrays have a keen sense of smell and good eyesight. Fish have large eyes and their lens are highly curved in order to see better in the darkness of the sea. As far as i have read.

I would agree with Rumrunner01 & divnpaul that in the dark it is much harder to see the stingrays or anyfish for that matter.
