I would recommend Soto's cause I've used them before. We are going in a few days and I have scheduled two trips with Soto's spread out four days apart, the last time we were at GC we went once and was so amazed we decided to make two trips this time

I've also seen a company called OH - NO'S recommended here and they should be great as well

hope this helps, Gene

SQUIDKISSER,

I wonder if you mean "Oh Boy's Charters"....not "Oh No's". Never heard of that, and Oh Boy's is the other CAG recommended Stingray City company.

Where does that charter depart from? Would it be recommended to go to Stingray city on a day when there are few, if any, cruise ships in port? Does that make a difference with crowds??

hahahahaha!

yeah......

oh boys it is!

who would want to get on a boat belonging to "OH-NO!"

i e-mailed Soto's and they recommend an afternoon trip since by then most of the cruise folks are already heading back to their ships, so that's what we did. can't wait to see those stingrays again, if you've never been it is awesome, at one point I had so many stingrays with me underwater I fellt like I was in a sardine can!

I was planning on the afternoon and wondering if the cruise ship passengers would be gone by that time or not. Sounds like it would work out, thanks.

You can use the Port Authority's schedule to pick a day.

Link to the thread that has the link to the Port Authority Website

I find that the "Month at a glance" is the easiest way to check.

I had looked at that but could not make sense out of the time. For example, on Feb 16th, it shows ships arriving early morning and leaving same day at 4 o5 or 6 AM. The times make no sense or pehaps I am missing something. I checked the day before and it is the same thing?

Those are just typos Bob. All the departure times are in the P.M.

Most ships arrive at 7 or 8 A.M. and depart at 4 or 5 P.M. Saturday and Sunday are the best SRC days as there are no ships in town.. (well maybe 1 occasionally)

I've been out with Sotos on very crowded days and it didn't change the experience at all.... Billy always seems to know the best spot to anchor away from other boats and gets plenty of rays to come visit....

No matter what time your choose you will have a great experience with Sotos..

Have fun!!

Typos they are indeed. I wouldn't worry about the stingray attacks. I think they follow the saying "don't bite the hand that feeds you".

I took my mother and father there two weeks ago and my mother-in-law and her sister back in October. They all enjoyed it and will always remember the experience.

We will be staying in East End (Tortuga Club) in 3 days (!!!!!!) and from the posts have concluded Soto's is best tour. My question is how much time to allow for the drive to make the 9:30 tour??
Thanks all- this is a fabulous board.
