I know there is nice snorkeling by Cracked Conch, and it is definitely on our to do list for this trip. We had to skip it last time, and I missed it! Is there anywhere else that would be interesting up that way? I like to collect new fish and other creatures. octopus fisheat Pictures only, of course! Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

haltom,

I don't know if you've been to Cemetery Beach, but there's never a lot of people there, and there is some pretty good snorkeling! I've lost my "click here" button, but here's an old link with some of Joe's BEAUTIFUL photography: http://www.caymanactivityguide.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3037&highlight=

We took a resort diving course on our last trip three years ago, and if I remember correctly, our shore dive was from the Cracked Conch. I chickened out, but my husband saw lots of different fish, a couple of turtles and a barracuda at that spot, and it was a pretty shallow dive.

Hope this adds another stop to your list!

We also LOVE to snorkel at Smith's Cove, which is in the opposite direction. If you've never been there, let me know...I can post directions when I'm not on the boss' dollar!

Jen

haltom - I would also add Kaibo to your list of snorkeling options. It's situated on a shallow lagoon that tapers off gradually to deeper water. The conditions are almost always ideal with good visibility and there are starfish in the shallow waters if you walk to the right facing the ocean about 20 yards.

Kaibo also offers all of the beauty, shade and tranquility of Rum Point, plus much more and minus the crowds and high prices. Wink

I think I'll try that too...I have heard the other place is expensive and I'm all about the starfish. I just know the kids will LOVE IT! Is Kaibo the place where you eat on the upper deck?

tracya,

Kaibo is located on the Northside of Grand Cayman at Cayman Kai

Here's a link to the information Joe posted regarding Kaibo at Cayman Kai

And here's a link to Map 1 showing the location :

After reviewing the information, should you have any questions feel free to ask.

tracya,

Although you can print out the map before your trip, that map is in the printed copy of CAG, that will be at the airport, just to the right of baggage claims when you arrive. Smile

No problem asking questions, we're here to help. Smile

I'd just note that the answers to most questions can be readily found by going through the various Topics in the forum or by using the search function located just below the Royal Palms Webcam, above to the left.

Give it a try, it's very easy to use! Smile
