Do i need to purchase snorkeling gear when I get to the Caymans? Is there a place there to purchase? How much? We can't get any here (Chicago) because it is still snowing Laughing

Yes, you can buy snorkeling gear in the Caymans at any dive shop, and in fact in many hotel gift shops. However, I think you'll get a better price if you buy it at home.......try a dive shop. They should have them year round. My niece's husband just purchased a set from his local dive shop here in Minnesota and got a great deal....he only paid $32 for a mask, snorkel AND fins. They were normally $89, but were "last year's model" Shock

My local dive shop would have sold him a mask and snorkel for $30, but fins would have been extra.

Anyway, if you can't find a dive shop near home, then, yes, you can certainly purchase them in Cayman!

Planetfunk - I live in Chicago and just bought snorkel gear at Target. The kit was on sale this week and included mask, snorkel, fins and a carrying case for $26.
