We would like to visit at least one of the other islands for a day trip. However, I've noticed they're some distance away. I expect flying to be the fastest method and also most likely is more expensive. Is there a boat service that is reasonable in price and reasonably fast? I don't want to send 2 hours (more, or less ?) each way to either Cayman Brac or Little Cayman. This means flying is the most likely option for us.

I'm interested in how much either flying or surface ship might be and the same for travel time. If we were spending the night on the smaller island time would not be so important.

Our time on-island would be spent snorkeling or perhaps exploring a little.

Check out Cayman Airways--they have 4 daily flights to the Brac, plus some that fly on just some days. I don't know how much tickets cost, but 4 years ago we stayed in the Brac due to Hurricane Ivan and it only cost us about $100 to add that to our already purchased tickets to Grand Cayman.

Maybe Brakker will see this and give you the scoop--he lives in the Brac

I just did a search for flights and the cost in May was $136. don't know if the schedule will fit in with your plans, but check it out. The Brac is small, no traffic--but I remember it did take us a long time to check in on our return to GC. You don't have to go through customs when you are traveling from GC because you have already cleared it when you arrived in GC.

Shelly :-)

Hello, Bob! With some assistance from joe and shelly, I am once again able to post on here. If you didn't get the PM I sent you, here is my intended post:

Doggone it, Bob... the Minnow doesn't run to the sister islands. Your only viable option is flying. You can come over on the jet to the Brac, or use Cayman Express' otter for Little Cayman or the Brac. Snorkeling is great at either island, but the Brac has the edge for hiking and exploring.... especially the caves. You can get the Cayman Airways flight schedule, etc at the Cayman Airways website. Why not plan on spending a few days????

Thanks to all for the help. We'd like to stay longer on the Brac but are locked into the package on GC, long before I realized how nice it would be to visit either island. Should have done more homework first. Embarassed

I'll contact the airlines to see about times and more exact cost. Thanks again.

Hello bobdenver! wave

You may want to get in touch with the Southern Cross Club idea , they might have some possibilities for you to get over to the Sister Islands and are recommended by the CAG.....you can find more info in the Sister Island section of the Cayman Activity Guide dance1
