I has seen on the Marriott page before that there were small fridges, and remember others commenting on those in their trip reports of the past I believe. Has anyone stayed there lately? The Marriott has updated their page and that is no longer mentioned. Did the remove the fridges? We were planning on getting some drinks and stuff for the room, just checking on what to expect.

Guess they do not have a microwave or anything (unless it has been left off the Marriott page) so we are going to have to eat out all our meals. Oh well- guess that is an excuse to enjoy the food! Guess we could grab some snack bars and stuff for the room.

I am interested to hear the response to this as well. I stayed there in August 2005 and the room did have a small refrigerator that worked great for my daughter and I. Milk for cereal or yogurt in the morning and fruit and cheese for lunch. Dinner's out at all the fine establishments of course.

My husband and I will be staying there in July and if the refrigerators are gone. We will have extremely large restaurant bills with the amount of food he eats if every meal is out.

I had asked this question awhile back- and was told there were fridges. But now looking at the websites tthey are no longer listed. Wondered if that was just left off with the update of the site. Not sure. Would like to be able to keep snack and such in the room to help with the cost of eating out so much.

We just returned from two fantastic weeks staying at the Marriott Beach Resort.

We had a courtyard room and that definitely had a really effective fridge so I would guess that all rooms must have them.

Incidentally, the MBR was a really great place to stay - in particular, please say hi to Lucy in The Solano restaurant for us. She looked after our two little boys, taking them in to meet the chefs and getting them their own chefs hats, signed by all the kitchen staff!

All the staff we met there were so kind, particularly Olga on the beach, Sarah in the lounge and, best of all, the Paraguayan harpist, Eugene!!!!

You'll have a wonderful time - wish we were back already!!

Thank for the info. I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to have a bad experience in Grand Cayman.

Fraserjames- Thanks. I had been all over the Marriotts page looking for that information. Seems odd they include all the other amenities the site even notes that the tv is color and that the pillows are down/feather. I would imagine that a fridge would make the list. Was starting to wonder if maybe they just took them all out for some reason to encourage guests to not snack in the rooms.

If you look under resorts, you will see a forum for the Marriott. Actually I just asked this question last week. Great minds think alike huh?

LisaF,

I decided that if this was such a burning question, that it deserved it's own thread Laughing . I hope you are able to find your post after I merged it.......

I'm the same way you are, wanting to find everything out about where I'm staying and traveling to. I think you'll find that a lot of the answers to the questions that you may have are already here in our various forums. After I called Marriott I found out that they are including the mini-fridge in the wet bar in all room types. The lady said that the fridge would be half stocked with coolers, etc and half empty for personal use. (So be careful what you grab!) I called because I started to wonder if the different room types had different amenities.

Lisa- glad to see I am not the only one curious. I wanted to know if I should plan on a fridge or not.

Hope this helps~

I have a couple more questions about the Marriott resort. Do the room keys come on a wrist band you can take in the water or do I have to bring my own? Is there a computer in the lobby that you can pay to use or do I have to go to an internet cafe? Thanks, Lisa

Lisa,

There are no wrist bands for the keys. There is a computer with internet access in the lobby and I believe it is free to guests. We didn't use it but saw others using it.

Hey Husker and Mrs. Husker

We haven't heard from you lately --how was your trip to GC? Hope everything worked out and you had a great time. Are you doing to do a trip report for uss?

Shelly :-)
