I have stayed at the Marriott twice (once before it was a Marriott). Last summer, before Ivan, Wade and I were VERY impressed with the accomodations, staff and service. I can only imagine how WONDERFUL it is now that the renovations are complete. We can't wait to see it all in person...hopefully next summer.

For anyone who is a Marriott rewards member, as is my hubby, save up your points and use them there! This is a category 5 hotel, and we stayed there with points for FREE last year! You can't get a better deal than that!!!!

My wife and I will be in Grand Cayman in March. This will be our first trip to the Cayman Islands and staying at the Marriott. Any information on the Marriott would be appreicated. Is it a nice hotel and is it in a good location. Very Happy

the marriott is well located on central/south SMB. as Kim noted, it recently completed a fairly extensive renovation and is an attractive property.

post-Ivan it reclaimed yards of beach as did much of SMB. hopefully this years storms have not washed the beach back out to sea.

the snorkeling off the marriott is actually quite good by SMB standards. much of it in <10ft of water.

I just wanted to add that my wife and I have already booked our stay at the Marriott. I emailed Nadia at Marriott and because I mentioned the Activity Guide discount she upgraded our room from a standard room (no view--probably parking lot) to a courtyard view room. We are definetly looking forward to our stay there...will arrive in only a few days!!! Razz

There are ponds and rivers that meander through much of the property. This section surrounds the ocean front restaurant, Solana.

This is between the turtle pond and the river around Solana.

The recent beach project was a major success and worked out exactly as they planned. Even after two nor'westers the beach is much larger than before they deposited the extra sand. There is room for three rows of lounge chairs and then some. They are currently at 100% occupancy and there is more than enough beach to comfortably accommodate their guests.

ohmygosh........that looks beautiful there! LOVE a martini bar and LOVE tapas! The color as well as the architecture and furnishing look breathtaking..........would seriously reconsider staying in the room though :-D when you have paradise outside Very Happy
