What would be the best way to convert the money If at all. I know that you can just use usd dollars but I figured I would ask what the conversion rates typically are. I am curious to what the bank would charge to convert or something along those lines.....

We never bother going to the bank and changing our money anymore. We just use US dollars in the beginning and then we get Cayman dollars as change from our purchase. The exchange rate never varies......it is always $1.00 US = $.80 CI. Although, you may get a slightly better exchange when cashing a traveler's check and/or exchanging at a bank. That would most likely be 82 Cayman cents to the US dollar.

We've just decided that it's not worth the extra two cents to make a trip to the bank, so we just do it as we go....

Hope that answered your question.

Yeah.... I'm with Char. The exchange rate doesn't vary a great deal, and unless you're talking BIG BUCKS, it's hardly worth the trip to the bank.

Here's the one dollar exchange rate for the last 5 years.
