I know American money is accepted in the Caymans but are traveller's checks accepted at most restaurants and stores ?

daterry - Yes, travelers checks are accepted virtually everywhere visitors go.

Sometimes you can even get a slightly better exchange with traveler's checks. I think Kirk's Supermarket gives 82 cents to the US dollar, instead of the standard 80 cents. It varies, but every once in awhile you sort of get a "deal".

Don't forget, there are ATM's now in lots of places so it's even easier to get your CI dollars. We used to take traveler's checks, but now it's pretty much credit cards and the good ol ATM.

However you decide to do it, when planning your Cayman trip, what they say is "Bring half as many clothes and twice as much money".
