I may visit (my tickets yet to get confirmed) Cayman either on 16th or 17th of September (depends on the availability of Cruise tickets). I do have following questions

1. We (2 adults in early 30s and one toddler aged 2 and a half and 3.5 feet tall) are Cruising in Carnival Cruise Lines. None of us can swim and not much into snorkeling. With that said, Is Stingray City a good choice for us particulary for my kid ?
2. Is there a shuttle service from and to Cruise Dock?
3. What other choices for us?

Thanks for your time. I really appreciate the valuable information provided in this site.

You do not need to know how to swim or snorkel to experience Stingray City Sandbar because the water is shallow enough to stand up in most places. Soto's Cruises will provide life jackets and supervision to ensure a safe and exciting experience.

Soto's Cruises provides free transport to and from the cruise dock.

Other choices are many, including: Horseback Riding, Boatswain's Beach, Sea Trek (helmet dives); or perhaps a submarine tour with Atlantis, where you can enjoy the beauty of Cayman's underwater world through wide viewing windows in the air conditioned comfort of a submarine.

Whatever you decide, be sure to book it directly with the operator and mention the Activity Guide discount. Booking anything through the ship will cost more and involve very rushed and crowded impersonal excursions.

Have a great vacation!

Welcome to the forum krisudha Smile ,

Joe had some great suggestions, but I think you're really going to be limited by the young age of your child. Even though the sandbar at Stringray City is relatively shallow, it's still too deep for your child, so you'd be holding him/her the whole time. Then, if you don't swim, you would probably be staying on the boat while they make their second snorkeling stop.....so, I'm not sure that it's the best choice for your family.

Now, the Atlantis Seaword Explorer will take children ages two and over, so that would be a wonderful way for you to see some of the underwater world that Cayman is so known for. I think that their other excursion, the actual submarine which goes much deeper, has a minimum age limit of 4 years old, so that wouldn't be a option for you. The Atlantis office is located right at the cruise dock, so you'd have no transportation issues. Be sure to print off the coupons from the magazine from this site before you go......there is a coupon for 10% off the Seaword Explorer, so you can save some money!

Another good suggestion was to go up to Boatswain's Beach.....I'm sure your little one would enjoy seeing all the turtles. There is a coupon in the magazine for 10% off that admission price too!

Otherwise, you might just want to take a cab up to a beach, like the Royal Palms, and have fun playing at the water's edge and making sand castles with your little one.

Hope your trip comes together.....

Char
