We had originally rented a car for GC, with the intent to drive to Rum Point, altho there are other things I would like to see, too, so have decided to forego Rum Point this time due to time constraints (cruise ship 7am-4pm).

What I am thinking now, is the Nautilus, the Butterfly Farm, and Hell and 7 Mile Beach if there is enough time left. Are these easy to get to? Do I need to keep the rental car or would a cab get us to these different places?

Any thoughts on the good or bad to this plan?

Welcome nitenurs2 - Renting a car with just a few hours on the island is usually not a very good investment.

You could see butterflies, turtles, birds, nature walks and much more all at a single destination - Boatswain's Beach. You can taxi there for about $15 if you use a friend of mine and avoid the much higher cruise rates. His name is Chris and you can call him at: 345-949-5702.

Plan at least 4 hours at the park for snorkeling with turtles, shark and experiencing many wonderful activities and culture.

That should leave you with enough time for an Atlantis adventure, either their 100' sub or their semi-submersible; between the two, the 100' is the better value and you will see much more.

Hell is barely worth visiting if you are here for an extended period and definitely not worth the drive with so very little time on the island.

Be sure to print the coupons for Boatswain's Beach and Atlantis from our magazine online and bring them with you; we do not distribute magazines to the cruise ship dock. Wink

Have a great vacation!

Thank you so much for your suggestion.

Sadly, there are things that we are not considering (we are a large cruise group) and the main 2 are the turtles and snorkeling (many have been to the turtle farm and even more can't swim).

Needless to say, trying to set something like this up, which will appeal to a group, is proving difficult. Confused

We continue to welcome suggestions.

nitenurs2

Have you considered dividing up into 2 groups? I know it's hard to find things that everyone in a large group wants to do.

shelly :-)
