Hello,

I just found this board and have been reading posts to get information. Has anyone used Ebanks Watersports for their tour to Stingray City? We are cruising in Nov. and since Nativeway is booked for their Rays, Reef and Rum Point Beach tour our group found Ebanks Watersports will do the same tour privately for us. Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks! Smile

Welcome to the board, cruisegal Smile ,

I'm glad you found this board, and we'll try to help you anyway we can.

I don't know anything about Ebanks Watersports, and they are not an advertiser in the Cayman Actiivty Guide, therefore they are not one of the companies that we recommend.

If you are really intent on stopping at Rum Point on the day that you do Stingray City, you would probably have to take a private charter. One of the companies that we do recommend for private Stingray City trips would be Oh Boy Charters. You can contact them at the following e-mail address , and be sure to mention that you are a member of the Activity Guide Wink.

However, if you're willing to give up Rum Point, and just do one or two snorkel stops, in addition to a visit to Stingray City (the Sandbar), you can go with either Oh Boy Charters, or Soto's Cruises on one of their regular trips, for less than $40 per person. I checked the Ebanks website, and I think a private charter with them would cost anywhere from $400 or $500 on up, depending on the size of your group. That's a lot of extra money to pay, just for a stop at Rum Point, and I'm just not sure it would be worth it.

Remember, the companies that we recommend never overcrowd their boats, so you'll almost feel like you're on a private charter when you're not.

Hope this helps!

Char

Thank you scubachar for the warm welcome. I just emailed Oh Boy Charters to ask about their tours.

We have read Rum Point Beach is spectacular and will not be crowded, as there are 6 cruise ships in port that day. We would have been happy to go to seven mile beach but are afraid it will be very crowded. I appreciate your help and suggestions.

Thank you!

Ummmm......w/ 6 ships in port........everything will be crowded! I guess that you do what you can do!!! You are correct in assuming, however, that because of the distance from port, Rum Poin wiil be LESS crowded than other areas closer to port. You will have a great time still! I just didn't want you to envision a deserted beach all to yourself!

Have Fun!

Daboss777, yes we assume everything will be crowded especially Stingray City, but hopefully we will get there early enough before the cruise ship excursions. That is also the main reason we want to go to Rum Point Beach. With 6 ships being in port, we hope Rum Point will be less crowded.

We are really excited about visiting Grand Cayman. This is a great board to gather information, so glad I found it.
