Great map Joe........thanks. As a first timer, I was wondering how difficult it would be to find Smith's Cove. Should be quite easy now, though I have a feeling we'll be spending most of our time snorkeling near the turtle farm.

Thanks for the map, photos and information. Leaving on a jet plane this morning, headed to Miami and off to sail the high seas.

Smith Cove is a great beginners place, assuming seas are not rough. Fish collect around coral and ironshore structure very close to the beach.

Go to Rum Point and snorkel under the pier. Lots of fish and the water is shallow. Also a small reef to the left of the pier is good for novice snorkelers.

The water at Smith Cove was very rough on Dec. 9 but made for dramatic scenery! I saw a stringray at Rum Point pier that week. We caught some spiny lobsters snorkeling at the two hotels at Collier's Beach on Dec 12. It is lobster season and keepers have to be at least 6 in. tails.
